The United States Census tracks only U.S. citizen Demographics. The 2000 census showed that about 25% of California residents were not citizens of the United States. The University of California conducted a study in 2007 which showed that the population of native-born Californians, for the first time, exceeded 50%. For all age groups, the percentage of native Californians was 53%, with the highest percentage being residents 15-24 years of age at 70%.
