Somewhat of a loaded question since technically the entire population of the United States minus 2,977 people survived the attacks by either escaping the buildings or simply being nowhere in the area.
Approx. 50,000 people COULD have been killed on 9/11 if it wasn't for all the first responders, the fireman, the policeman and even regular citizens who helped evacuate people to safety. Approx. 2800 sadly perished that day, approx. 600 people were on the floors of the towers directly hit by the planes, another 1500 or so people were either trapped above the floors the planes hit and died or were still somewhere in the towers/too close to the towers and were killed when towers collapsed.
Our thoughts and prayers will always be with the victims of 9/11 and their families. United we Stand & We will never forget.
A total of 2,977 victims died in the 9/11 attacks, including passengers, first responders, and individuals in the towers. Around 6,000 people were injured and survived the attacks.

Officially, as of July 2008, the death toll currently stands at 2,751 Victims, although it will most certainly increase as time goes on. While the majority of victims were killed that day, many others have died in the years after the attacks, mainly those in New York that day who have developed serious lung problems from the toxic dust inhaled from the World Trade Center collapse. Others have been diagnosed and continue to fight on, but for some it's only a matter of time.
Approximately 700-800 Canadians die each year from gunshot wounds, with suicides being the most common cause of these deaths. Gun-related fatalities in Canada are significantly lower than in the United States due to stricter gun control measures.
The average yearly income for a 911 dispatcher in the United States is around $40,000 to $50,000. However, this can vary based on location, experience, and the specific agency or organization of employment.
