Some of the key problems in Pakistan include political instability, widespread corruption, security challenges due to terrorism and militancy, economic issues such as inflation and unemployment, and lack of investment in infrastructure and public services.
Geographical: East and West Pakistan were separated by India. Also the division boundary between states are strongly disputed.
Political:There were literally only the Quaid M.A. Jinnah and Liaquat Ali Khan with prior administrative experiences. East and West wing were too different to govern and the balance of power b/w these two are hard to maintain. There were no resource for the central government.
Economic: Pakistan inherited almost none of India's prosperous industries and the share of the money divided were distributed unfairly.
Social: It was a country with nations between nations as ethnic differences almost impossible to curb.
Pakistan faced a lot of problems after partition like :
1. geographical problem :
- no specified boundary
- east and west were to far to rule (communication and transportation was difficult)
- geographical difference b/w east and west Pakistan created social and cultural problems as there were no common things between them except religion
2. political problems:
- Pakistan lacked efficient leadership
- India had inherited machinery and furnishings from British while Muslims did not due to unfavourable political terms
- two different east and west difficult to govern
3. economic problems
- lack of industries Calcutta was with India while Karachi was too under developed to industrialize
- most people lived in the countryside so the were illetrate and depended on primary sector so more burden was on the primary sector instead of tertiary and secondary sector
- the disturbution of financial assets b/w india and pakistan was unfair
4. accesion of princely states
- kashmir population wanted to part of pakistan but was not
- hyderabad wanted dominion status
- junagadh was invaded by indians
