Calculating the mean helps to understand the central tendency of a data set, while calculating the variance provides information about the spread or dispersion of the data points around the mean. Together, the mean and variance provide a summary of the data distribution, enabling comparisons and making statistical inferences.

The three sacred principles of Ingsoc in "1984" are: Newspeak, doublethink, and the mutability of the past. These principles are used by the Party to maintain control and manipulate the population through controlling language, suppressing independent thought, and altering historical records.
In George Orwell's "1984," the Party, led by Ingsoc, maintains power primarily through the control of information. By manipulating language, rewriting history, and disseminating propaganda, Ingsoc shapes reality to align with its ideology, ensuring that citizens cannot question or challenge authority. The pervasive surveillance and censorship create an environment of fear and conformity, suppressing dissent and fostering loyalty. This control over information ultimately prevents the populace from forming independent thoughts, solidifying the Party's dominance.
Ingsoc (portmanteau of "English Socialism") is the political ideology of the totalitarian government of Oceania in George Orwell's dystopian science fiction novel Nineteen Eighty-Four .
I believe they are metaphorical wars going inside the head of people living in the continents of Oceania, Eurasia and Eastasia. Although the idealogies are similar the continents fight with one another often times outnumbering one continent and therefore winning by contradictions. The ideologies are Socialism, Neo-Bolveshism and Buddhism which he thinks are trademarks to a dictatorship run society without knowledge of it. The former has the Ingsoc attribute. The Ingsoc signifies the power of the future and the way to freedom for all however the the meaning is associated to a double standard where freedom is for all but also slavery to others.
Winston's position on attempting to overthrow the government of Ingsoc is complex and fraught with internal conflict. While he harbors deep resentment towards the oppressive regime and dreams of rebellion, he is also acutely aware of the futility of such efforts, given the Party's pervasive control and surveillance. Ultimately, Winston's desire for change is overshadowed by a sense of helplessness, leading him to question whether meaningful resistance is even possible within such a totalitarian system. This ambivalence reflects his struggle between hope for a better future and the harsh reality of his circumstances.
It's right in the book. Whoever controls the past controls the future, and whoever controls the present controls the past.Ingsoc gains their power by manipulating the past so much so that Oceanians believe whatever is told to them. The past is alterable, but the past is also unalterable (doublethink).
The symbolism of a '13th hour' upon a clock's face represents the sheer invasive power of IngSoc/Big Brother who can change/modify not only time but the perception of time itself which is in keeping with their power to convince/manipulate others to the degree , which defies logic , that 2+2 CAN/COULD equal 5 .
Doublethink is crucial to Ingsoc (English Socialism) because it enables the Party to manipulate and control reality by allowing citizens to accept contradictory beliefs simultaneously. This mental flexibility helps maintain the Party's power, as it prevents individuals from questioning the regime's propaganda or recognizing its inconsistencies. By fostering a population that can accept two opposing ideas, the Party ensures loyalty and suppresses dissent, ultimately reinforcing its authoritarian control over society.
