A slice of a chart can be "exploded" out of it. An exploded slice is separate from the main part of the chart. An exploded pie chart has all the slices separated.

The legend tells you what each bar or column or line or pie slice etc. represents on your chart. It is usually colour-coded to help you and has the names beside them that are got from your spreadsheet or just as Series1, Series2 etc., if you did not specify names.
The KEY or LEGEND tells the viewer what the lines represent. The labels along the axes usually tell the viewer what the units are, but the title of the graph can be used to tell the viewer the units as well or instead.
