Netball

golden child is a drill where the players split into 2 teams. One team lines up in a line behind each other facing the post, the other team lines up in a line behind each other off the court. As soon as the coach blows the whistle/says go, the first person shoots then the next person shoots and so on. Whilst the shooters are shooting, the other team has to run around a third of the court and reach the other side before someone shoots. If someone shoots, the runner has to stop where they are. the shooters carry on shooting and the runners carry on running, however the runners who have stopped stay where they are. When only one runner is left they have to run and collect all the runners who had to stop. The aim of the game is for the runners to reach the end before everyone has scored.

Netball isn't an Olympic Sport, although it is played in the Commonwealth Games

It is important that each player has a different position in netball is because if each player has the same role, it wont allow them to go into seaperat areas of the netball caourt. You also cant try and score a point in netball because you have to be in the goal ring (semicircle).

finding space is when you run to a space (where there are no defenders) and receive a pass. it does take some practise but after a few games it will start to come naturally.

Wing defence can go up to the D of the opposing side and to the line in the center third nearest there own goal.

In a normal game of netball, each half is 30 minutes. Though keep in mind that the game is actually played in quarters and each quarter is 15 minutes long. Generally half time is longer than quarter time and thee-quarter time.

Only Goal Attack and Goal Shooter CAN score a goal.

So Wing Attack, Goal Keeper, Wing Defence, Centre, Goal Defence CAN'T score a goal.

i think your tallkin about a WING atttack. i myself am i wing attack so i can only go in one goal third and the centre third. howeva, in the goal third im not allowed in the circle. around half the time i get the centre pass and i need to hav a high fitness level cauze a wing attack and a goal attack hav the most excersize to do. there is loads of sprinting and dodging. i gr8 training warm up for a wing attack is called suicide. it is a personal favourite of mine. your trainer (if u hav one) will know wat this is. try adding an addition to the game by lying on your stomach b4 runing each time. if u r really keen (like me) try adding push ups and sit ups as well

goal shooter- can go in attacking third only-job is to shoot and hopefully score

goal attack- can go in attacking third and middle third-job is to help get the ball up nto the shooting circle and shoot

wing attack-can go in middle third and attacking third (but not the D)- job is to get the ball to the shooters

centre-can go everywhere except the two D's-job is to all round help attack and defend.

wing defence-can go in the centre third and defending third but not the D-job is to defend mid court

goal defence-can go in centre third and defending third-job is to defend the goal and stop the team scoring and attacking

goal keeper-can go in defending third only-job is to defend the goal.

There are 7 players on court, but you can have up to 12 on the team.
