I'm not sure about a gudwara, but taking your shoes off when entering most places is a sign of respect and humility. It shows the owner, guru, or keeper that you understand you are a guest and that you are appreciative to be honored by being allowed entrance.

7.He drowned him in the river

well i tink they have the belief in karma, so if they do something bad then die they come back as something lower, or vive verca.
Clarifications: If one were to study scriptures not just to read and listen but also to contemplate and understand, the idea of luck would not come in between. Nevertheless, there are different ideas people hold, not just Hindus or Sikhs, its everywhere.
Therefore, what would be more beneficial is to ponder upon scriptures with proper understanding than to look for good and bad luck.
