Yes yes and yes. Alarms are usually triggered in the event of an emergency and in this case the car hand probably been bumped or hit in such a way the alarm armed it self. Usually today's cars are designed that so once the alarm system has been armed the vehicle will not allow itself to start. You will need to have it reset so I suggest you call the dealer.
It's basically like a backup alarm or one that might be run by it's own battery power which would be triggered in a power outage
