Is it okay to breastfeed while taking Advil and Aleve?

Nothing is completely safe, but Advil (ibuprofen) is considered one of the safer choices for pain relief. Not much of it is excreted in breast milk, and it's commonly given to infants anyway. One study found that a mother taking 1 200 mg tablet of Advil every four hours (1.2 grams daily) had a daily total of about 100 micrograms of ibuprofen in her breast milk. Since the average therapeutic dose for infants is 30 milligrams/kg daily, this is only a few hundredths of a percent of the amount a doctor would normally prescribe for an infant.

Is it safe to take naproxen and mucinex?

Yes, it is safe to take both. My fiance just caught what we believe is the flu and his doctor is having him taking both. It's probably best to ask you doctor though.

Can you take Cymbalta and Aleve together?

For now, nothing shows that there is an interaction between those 2 drugs. A modification of stomach PH might change absorption of Cymbalta... But it is considered as okay to take both drugs together.

How many Aleve can you take to be like 550 naproxen?

Naproxen is in the NSAID family so they only thing that it will do is mess your stomach up, i can not really get you high the best case of a "high" that i have heard of is that the subject experienced hyperness and was very jittery, other than that you can not get high off of Naproxen.

Can take aspirin and naproxen different times in same day?

Yes and No. . .

The "Yes" part:

They are both Non-Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs (NSAID), but the 81 mg aspirin ("low dose") is typically given to help prevent heart attack and/or stroke. Because 81mg is significantly below the recommended dose for pain relief from aspirin, you can take ibuprofen the same day. However, you want to be careful not to take ibuprofen too often and not to take it in larger than recommended doses. It can cause gastrointestinal problems (stomach ulcers, etc.) and occasionally can cause some liver problems if taken repeatedly and at high doses.

The "No" part:

If a person is taking 81mg aspirin to prevent heart attacks, etc., ibuprofen could potentially lessen the anti-clotting effect of aspirin. It is wise not to take ibuprofen with aspirin if the aspirin is being taken for an anti-coagulation purpose.

Conclusion: You can take ibuprofen with 81mg aspirin, but do not do it often or for an extended amount of time.

*Note: If you took a pain-relief dose of aspirin, such as 325 mg, you would not want to take ibuprofen unless directed to by your practitioner.

ALSO: Make sure to verify with your doctor it is alright to take ibuprofen if you are on other medications. If a person is taking other medications that significantly affect the liver/kidneys or gastrointestinal tract, ibuprofen may not be recommended.

Can you take Ambien xanex and naproxen together?

Technically yes. There is no toxocological harmful effect in terms of poisoning.

Xanax is alprazolam, a highly addictive benzodiazepine sedative/ anti-anxiety medication. Naproxen is a NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug). These 2 medications are metabolised differently and do not affect each others' actions.

Less is known about Ambien/ Stilnox (zolpidem). It is also a sedative is a newer agent and does not belong to the well known benzodiazepine family. More unpredictable side effects have been reported such as sleep-walking and other bizarre behaviour. As Xanax and Ambien are both sedatives, a lot of care must be taken when the 2 are combined and detailed medical advice should always be sought. In terms of recreational drug use, it is not a safe combination. People who have taken either of these medications should never drive or use machinery.

Once again, Ambien and naproxen have no interactions and can safely be taken together.

Can you take naproxen and drixoral together?

Yes, these products are often sold in combination together in various cold products and can be taken together. Tylenol is a pain killer, and dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant. When taking products containing acetaminophen (Tylenol), do not exceed the recommended doses per day. Ask your pharmacist if you have more questions.

Can you mix Prednisone and naproxen together?

(from Drugs.com)

You searched for interactions between: * prednisone (predniSONE) * Naproxen sodium (naproxen) Interaction(s) found:

naproxen and predniSONE (Moderate Drug-Drug) MONITOR: The combined use of oral corticosteroids (predniSONE) and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) (naproxen sodium) may increase the potential for serious gastrointestinal (GI) toxicity, including inflammation, bleeding, ulceration, and perforation. In a large, case-control study of elderly patients, those who used corticosteroids and NSAIDs concurrently had an estimated relative risk (RR) for peptic ulcer disease and GI hemorrhage of 14.6 compared to those who used neither. Oral corticosteroid use was associated with a doubling of the risk (estimated RR = 2.0), but the risk was confined to those who also used NSAIDs. It is possible that both categories of agents are ulcerogenic and have additive effects on the GI mucosa during coadministration. Some investigators have also suggested that the primary effect of corticosteroids in this interaction is to delay healing of erosions caused by NSAIDs rather than cause de novo ulcerations.

MANAGEMENT: Caution is advised if oral corticosteroids and NSAIDs are used together, especially in patients with a prior history of peptic ulcer disease or GI bleeding and in elderly and debilitated patients. During concomitant therapy, patients should be advised to take the medications with food and to immediately report signs and symptoms of GI ulceration and bleeding such as severe abdominal pain, dizziness, lightheadedness, and the appearance of black, tarry stools. The selective use of prophylactic anti-ulcer therapy (e.g., antacids, H2-antagonists) may be considered.

Can you take Vicodin and Aleve?

Yes, combining oxycodone and aleve cause no adverse reactions. However, unless you are taking oxycontin, it is more than likely you are taking a preparation of oxycodone and a drug similar to aleve such as acetaminophen (tylenol) or ibuprofen (advil). Your prescription bottle will be labeled with any mixer in the preparation. If it has a mixer in it aleve would probably do little to further relieve pain, and taking aleve on top of a mixer could potentially be hard on your liver. unless you are absolutely positive there is no mixer, I would not suggest taking aleve with oxycodone.

Can you take naproxen and Tylenol pm?

Yes, you can. Acetaminophen (Tylenol) works on a different part of the body than NSAID Drugs (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs). In fact, there is a study being performed in New Zealand to show the effect of taking an NSAID with acetaminophen (the study was performed with ibuprofen, but naproxen sodium and ibuprofen are in the same class of medication). The drug, marketed as Maxigesic, includes 500 milligrams of paracetamol (acetaminophen) and 150 milligrams of ibuprofen, and found no drug interaction. In fact, the study found the combination of acetaminophen and an NSAID drug improved the analgesic effect (pain relieving effect) by up to 37% (see references below). Additionally, Drugs.com shows no drug interactions between Aleve and Tylenol (naproxen sodium and acetaminophen).

Please be aware that both acetaminophen and naproxen sodium are contraindicated for certain individuals. Acetaminophen has been shown to cause liver damage at high dosages, and NSAID drugs, including Aleve and Advil, can cause severe stomach bleeding. Both of these conditions can be fatal. Those with liver damage should not take acetaminophen, and anyone with a history of stomach bleeding, or that has a risk of stomach bleeding, should not take NSAID drugs, including Aleve or Advil.

NOTE: I am not a doctor or a pharmacist. Please speak to a licensed doctor or pharmacist before taking any medication, whether over the counter or prescription.

Can you take bc powder and naproxen?

Somone answered and said BC Powder contains acetamenophin. You have been misinformed! Although hydrocodone contains acetamenophin, BC powder does not. The active ingredients in BC are aspirin and caffeine and no longer contains salicylamide after the formula change. Hydrocodone and BC Powder can both cause an upset stomach and can both cause stomach bleeding in extreme cases. Goody's powder contains acetamenophin.

How does Aleve interact with aspirin?

Aleve™ is a brand name for the drug naproxen, which is classified as a Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID for short). Both aspirin and naproxen can thin the blood; this effect is synergistic when the two are taken together. The combination can also irritate the stomach lining, especially when taken without food. That said, most people aren't going to suffer any serious consequences if they take an aspirin within the same 24-hour timeframe as a naproxen tablet. The two do the same thing in a similar way, which is why combining them (or taking them concurrently) doesn't make much sense. === === As mentioned above, both of these meds are gastrointenstinal irritants. That, combined with their platelet inhibiting function make them potentially dangerous when taken together, especially for patients with a history of ulcers or GI bleeds. Do not take these two meds together on an ongoing basis. If you experience stomach pains, heartburn, tarry or black stools, coffee ground vomiting or blood in your stool or vomit, discontinue both these meds at once and head for the ER. Both are serious GI irritants, and aspirin is a blood thinner, inhibiting platelet action and clotting factor. There is therefore a notable risk of GI hemorrhage with this drug combination. While not nearly as lethal as the famous barbituate/alcohol combination, serious counterindications still exist. I would talk to my doc about other painkiller/anti-inflamatory combinations that don't present this risk picture. I would also NOT take this combination myself.

Can naproxen show up as marijuana on a drug screen?

The Naproxen Test is a test used to distinguish whether a fever of unknown origin (FUO) is a infectious in nature versus neoplastic related . In the test, Naproxen is administered to the patient and if fever breaks, it is assumed that patients fever is due to a neoplastic process. Therefore, I do not believe the naproxen test has anything to do with THC.

Whoever wrote the above answer was slightly confused with the question. According to my research, yes naproxen can cause a fals positive on a THC drug test.

How was naproxen discovered?

Can you take Aleve with acetylsalicylic acid?

No advid does not contail acetylsalicylic acid. Only Bayer and aspirin.

Is Aleve still good after the experation date?

I wouldn't advise taking it after it has expired, though, I doubt it's dangerous. The main reason there is an expiration date is because after a certain amount of time the medicine loses potency and doesn't work as well as it had originally.
