The Website doublecheckmd.com has a section on the liver-related side-effects of Tamiflu. I do not know how reliable a source that website is. I am continuing to research this question as I have a personal stake in the answer as well.

They state that

-----------Quote from website below------------------
"Tamiflu may cause hepatitis (infection or inflammation of the liver - may cause nausea; vomiting; fever; abdominal pain; jaundice/yellowing of the skin; fatigue; loss of energy; abnormal liver blood tests including GGT and AP/alkaline phosphatase).

This drug may also cause the following symptoms that are related to hepatitis:

  • Abnormal liver blood tests Abnormal liver blood tests
  • Liver problems Liver problems
  • Liver failure (may cause nausea; vomiting; fever; abdominal pain; jaundice/yellowing of the skin; fatigue; loss of energy; abnormal liver blood tests including GGT and AP/alkaline phosphatase) Liver failure (uncertainty exists about relationship between drug and side effect)

Medical Source Information
Yellow highlights indicate symptoms related to hepatitis.

Hepatic side effects have included hepatitis and abnormal liver function tests. Hepatic failure has also been reported; however, causality has not been established."

Is it safe to take 3 Aleve at once?

It's not a good idea.

The real problem here is the aspirin/ibuprofen combination. You can normally mix acetaminophen with either of those things, but combining aspirin with NSAIDs is a no-no.

The other complicating factor is that "Tylenol 3" contains an opioid, codeine. I know that codeine and aspirin are sometimes combined, but you're adding acetaminophen to the mix as well, you should probably ask your pharmacist.

Can you take cephalexin and naproxen together?

No do not take them together

ANSWER:

The above answer is not correct. YES you may take Aspirin and Cephalexin together. This, and many other relative questions can be answered safely and reliably by calling your local pharmacy, and requesting to speak with the pharmacist on staff. I have verified this information on your behalf, with three pharmacists.

If you are taking Keflex (Cephalexin) for an infection in your GI system, it is not recommended that you consume Aspirin, because it may cause further stomach upset in relation to the GI infection. However, if your bacterial infection is not related to your GI (gastrointestinal)...stomach...then Aspirin is fine to take along with the Cephalexin.

On a personal note, I was prescribed Keflex (which is Cephalexin) for an infected gland. It was painful, and I also took Aspirin (one Aspirin, 325mg). I had no problems and it did help with the pain.

Be sure to read the Aspirin bottle, however, and do not take any more than what is printed on the label.

In the future, I highly recommend asking for a print-out of food and drug interactions that your prescribed medication has, and keep it close. CVS, Walgreen's, and Osco Drug all offer this as a courtesy. All you have to do is request it.

Should you take Aleve or hydrocodon for tooth pain?

I would say it depends on the type of dental pain (pre-surgical,post-surgical,or just bad infections or abcesses). Demerol (meperidine) is a way stronger pain killer than hydrocodone( vicodin, lortab, norco, vicoprofen). People having serious dental surgeries or have a tolerence to opiods might need the stronger demerol. Less severe dental pain can most likely be controlled by hydrocodone. Also hydrocodone always has either acetaminophen,or ibuprofen in it . While meperidine (demerol) has only that drug in it. The acetaminophen or ibuprofen in hydrocodone also has an anti swelling property to it which can help a lot. I've personally never heard of demerol prescribed for dental pain. Usually if something stronger than hydrocodone is needed percocet (oxycodone) is given.

What mg are in prescription strength naproxen?

You can get Naproxen in several differnet dosages. 200, 500 and 800 for exmple.

Also, Naproxen sodium is kind of the same thing but the milligrams are equavalent - I've heard - to 220, 520 and 820.

Naproxen is the active ingredient , i beleive, in Aleve which you can get over the counter.

What false positive does naproxen show in a drug test?

Naproxen can potentially cause false positives for benzodiazepines in certain drug tests. This occurs because some immunoassay screening tests may cross-react with naproxen, leading to inaccurate results. However, confirmatory testing, such as gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), can differentiate between naproxen and benzodiazepines. It's important for individuals taking naproxen to inform testing personnel about their medication use.
