Can I take Aleve with 800 mg of Ibuprofen for my back pain?

i don't know but i just did on an empty stomach

i guess we will find out what happens..............

VERY BAD IDEA. aleve & ibuprifen belong to the same class of drugs-NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). if you are taking the maximun dose of each drug you are essentially "overdosing". these drugs carry the risk of causing gastointestinal bleeding, so you'd be upping ante on this.

You do not want to mix over the counter pain medicine on top of prescription medication without consulting your doctor. He might tell you to take some Aleve, but he might also find some other prescription that would solve the problem.

The difference is in the chemical composition, one containing the SODIUM SALT. They are both nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Naprosyn (Aleve) is available over the counter and is indicated for the temporary relief of minor pain and inflammation., Naproxen sodium (Anaprox) is by prescription only (pharmaceutical strength) for relief of chronic pain and inflammation. Anaprox is almost the same formulation as Naprosyn, but in a fast-acting version of the drug. Both medications are NSAIDs that treat pain associated with menstruation. Each of these medications have ACTIVE contra-indications and side effects, so please review before taking any of the meds.

Naprosyn is manufactured by Roche Pharmaceuticals. Aleveis manufactured by Bayer Healthcare, previously Roche Pharmaceuticals. Anaprox is also distributed by Roche Pharmaceuticals.

The chemical names for naproxen (Naprosyn) and Naproxen sodium are (S)-6-methoxy-α- methyl-2-naphthaleneacetic acid and (S)-6-methoxy-α-methyl-2- naphthaleneacetic acid, sodium salt, respectively. Naproxen and naproxen sodium have the following structures, respectively:

naproxen (R=-COOH) C14H14O3 mol wt 230.26

naproxen sodium (R=-COONa) C14H13NaO3 mol wt 252.23

Naproxen has a molecular weight of 230.26 and a molecular formula of C14H14O3. Naproxen sodium has a molecular weight of 252.23 and a molecular formula of C14H13NaO3.

Hope this answers your question...

What is the effect of snorting naproxen sodium will it get me high?

== == == == == == If you are snorting this pill, that shows your ignorance, maybe you should do a little bit of research before resorting to such. Naproxan is another form of Aleve, an over the counter NSAID ibuprofen. Ibuprofens have led to bleeding ulcers in the stomach. No, it's not going to get you high. If it does that to your stomach, imagine what it can do you to your nose.

I've done it myself through stupid experimental curiosity, and it burns your nasal passages like rubbing alcohol. I couldn't endure it long enough to really find out if it gets you anywhere.

When you have Naproxen pills and cut them up and snort them as a powder can you get high? If you snort it, all that happens is it burns your nose, you get a runny nose, and it actually burns the back of your mouth too. If you want a good reaction, just swallow it. If you crush it and put it in your mouth, all it does there is taste nasty.

Can you take Allegra and Aleve together?

If you are taking a non-sedating antihistamine such as Claritin, Allegra, or Clarinex and you are still experiencing symptoms, it is OK to take a first generation, or sedating antihistamine such as Benadryl or Chlor Trimeton for a short period of time. If you are not sure what kind of anti-histamines you have, consult your pharmacist. Other than Claritin (aka loratidine, Alavert), all other over the counter antihistamines are first generation. Just remember, these will make you sleepy and will cause all secretions to dry up as well as other side effects - talk to your doctor/pharmacist to see if they are appropriate for you. Zyrtec is slightly different than other second generation antihistamines (Claritin, Allegra, etc) and may cause mild side effects similar to those with the first generation medications, so taking something like Benadryl with Zyrtec may increase those side effects. You can also add a nose spray like Flonase, and eye drops like Patanol to relieve symptoms. Additionally the medicine Singulair may provide additional relief as it relieves symptons in a different way. All 3 of these can be added to the above medicines without any known complications.

However, you should always consult with a pharmacist or your doctor when combining medicine therapies. == == == ==

Is it safe to take 2 pills of naproxen?

440 mgs of naproxen is the daily recommended dosage. You are taking 1,760 mgs per day, which is 4 times the recommended dose. Taking too much of this medication can cause internal bleeding so, I would be very careful taking more than that amount. Some of the symptoms of internal bleeding are: black or bloody stools, blood in the urine or vomit, and/ or severe stomach cramps.
