Ambien and it's formulation work well for the first two weeks. Taking them longer than that can lessen their effectiveness. Taking higher doeses does not seem to help.

I agree that you should probably be asking a doctor these questions and not random strangers online but if it helps I have been prescribed Concerta and Ambien together. I'm not a teen though... I'm 25. Ambien isn't one you would want to be on for a long period of time. One normally ends up having to up the dose.

Lithium is not listed as a drug with major interactions with Ambien. But it is listed as having moderate interactions. It probably is listed as such because it can have a depressive effect on the central nervous system and respiratory system. If these are the only 2 things you are taking that have that effect, it probably is not going to be a major issue. Otherwise it probably would be listed as having major interactions.

But the more of these types of substances you take that depress those systems (including alcohol), the more likely it is to cause a major problem.

One of Ambien's side effects is that it can make you feel shaky the next morning.

Never caused me any problems. But becareful Ambien can cause rebound insomnia if you become addicted to it. Try going natural! 5mg of Melatonin 30 mins before bedtime. You can even add 2 or 3 capsules of Valerian Root. Research everything first.
