A demonstrated sign I know for "Peace" is: Put the right flat hand on left flat hand, then the left on the right with palms down. Move both flat hands down and to sides.

The answer above would probably confuse others since it also means the number "Two".

In the past; there was a heavy debate in the linguistic community about spoken (audible) languages being the only proper form of official languages. Ultimately, linguists and other scholars determined that a language does not have to be audible for it to be a genuine form of extensive communication. Manual languages were often thought of as either idiotic, or mimicry, or miming. Yes, I know ASL uses miming, but so do people in the hearing world, as part of their "body-language". When was the last time you gave a "rock on" symbol or a "peace" sign or for the worse for wear, flipped someone off? For a language to be official, it has to have its own rules of grammar and syntax; and it has to be relatively thorough. Fictional languages may also be considered official, if there are people who speak it or write it in large scale numbers (Klingon e.g.)

If really up to you cause people name are made by the person and if you want a name sign have to be what you like.

Here is how Megan is done (all of this is with your dominant hand):

M - Make a fist, put your thumb under your first three fingers so it peeks out above the pinky.

E - Bend all of your fingers and your thumb at their middle joint and point the tips of your fingers and thumb into your palm.

G - Curl all but your pointer and thumb into a fist. Hold your pointer and thumb parallel to each other and pointing towards your other arm. The thumb is behind your pointer finger as your pointer faces the person you're signing to.

A - Make a fist with the thumb on the outside of your fingers out to the side and pointing straight up. The rest of your fingers point towards the ground.

N - Make a fist with your thumb under your first two fingers so it peeks out above your ring finger.

American Sign Language has it's own grammatical structure and is mainly used in America, however it is one of the largest known sign languages in all of the world. International Sign Language also known as "Gestuno" is a sign language that combines all signed languages (french, american, spanish, etc) and is not commonly practiced or used.

Gestuno was also very difficult to create because of the fact that some signs in one language can have a completely different meaning or even be insulting in another sign language.

The way that i would sign it is i would do the sign for woman (Five hand thumb to chin, down to middle of chest), fingerspell her first or last name and then put her into your signing field (point to a spot) throught your conversation you can just point to that spot and if people were paying attention they will know who you are talking about when you refer to that spot.

If you are talking about many different people, it will probably be helpful if every so often you re-finger spell her name.
