Is apple juice effective for removing gallstones?

No. The most effective way is the surgical removal of the gall bladder. On the contrary, the malic acid in apple juice can help dissolve gallstones as well as supplementing the diet with olive oil with has been shown to dissolve cholesterol gallstones which is what the majority of us have. A nonfat/lowfat diet and apple juice for three to five days followed by a olice oil and lemon juice cleanse always did the trick for me. Just google it. In case of a gallstone attack I recommend 1 tablespoon on epsom salts (magnesium) every hour until relief is achieved make sure you drink plenty of water and be near a bathroom. This typically alleviates pain within 2 hours and is much better than a trip to the ER. Been there done that. Magnesium relaxs the bile ducts and helps to either pass the stones or dislodge it back into the gallbladder. Other than that its typically caused by bad diet...i.e. to much diary fats and red meats... and lack of magnesium in the diet....there are plenty or herbal supplements like taurine that thin out bile. Eat an apple a day!!! Getting your gallbladder out can be diasterous ...many people still have biliary colic pains even afterwards and because there is nothing to house the bile produced by the liver it continuously drips (has been linked to possible cancer) and as many have told me creates emergency defecation immediately after eating...bile is dumped in response to food.... so think wisely ..in my case my surgery got cancelled and I decided it was the best thing for me to keep it and change my way of life...haven't regreted it since....Hope this helps better than a pathetic one liner answer. Sheesh......Oh BTW I'm a LVN....
