What is the bar code for Grail of a god in Lego Ninjago spinjitsu scavenger hunt?
Go onto google and click modular life ninjago codes. Hope this helps. Sorry that I haven't memorized them.
Where can one purchase a USB bar code scanner?
There are many very reliable locations to acquire a USB barcode scanner. Websites like Amazon and Newegg usually have some in stock. Also, a local Best Buy or Staples might have some available.
What can you can do with a bar code Scanner?
Basically, you can download them directly to their phone by scanning a QR code or by typing the shown Checkout link on their phone's browser, then land on a page where to find more information about the products you are about to download. That's really wonderful.
How do you make a real chaotic code scanner?
In the shows it is a scanner for when you see a creature, battlegear, attack, mugic or location scan it so you can have the thing for battling and there isn't one in real life
Do bar codes tell you when a product was purchased?
if you have an ipod you can download an app that will scan bar codes and it will tell you.
What is a bar code system used for?
A barcode system is used specifically for an automatic data collection where hand recording items takes too much time or is even costly. Also this system has been proven useful for inventory control. So you can count how many items have been sold and not sold with efficiency.
How do a bar code reader differ from a keyboard as input device?
From the the user's point of view - the bar-code reader is much simpler to use. You simply point the reader at the bar-code - and it scans the sequence of black & white lines, sending data to a computer - which tells the user what the product is.
With a keyboard, you would have to enter the long string of numbers printed under the bar-code - which not only takes more time - but could be entered wrongly.
What are the advantages of a bar code reader?
Advantages:- Putting magnetic stripes on the cards are not expensive,so the cards are cheap.
Disadvantages:- Magnetic stripes may get damaged or the stripe reader could break down.
Sorry, I couln't think of lots but I got one: It contains up to only a certain amount of letters and words :)
magnetic card readers operate on magnetic strips, which are inherently susceptable to erasure, it doesn't happen often but it does happen, there are more advantages than disadvantages. another disadvantage is that mag card readers take a lot of wear and tear, the read heads must meet the card with direct tension and precision. the read heads are usually impregnated with diamond dust to prevent wear on the heads so they may read millions of swipes without significant wear that would widen the swipe gap, this diamond dust tends to wear the mag stripe out on the card quicker than the head wears away. mag cards have three areas for data to be stored and these areas vary in bits per inch that may be written to the the areas. more precision is required for higher rates of data bpi. rfid is fast replacing magstripe, it has a more robust security protocol, isn't affected by enviroment and is as compact as the magstripe.
Is a barcode reader an input or an output?
A bar code reader is an input Device. Although they sometimes output a visible light, the purpose is to gather data from a printed code and input that data into your system (computer, Point of Sale, etc.)
What element makes a bar code scanners?
Start and Stop Symbologies
Barcode symbols have 'start' and 'stop' characters at the beginning and ending. These characters enable barcode scanners read bidirectionally, decoding the data in the correct order. Bar codes sometimes have 'check digit' at the end which is determined according to an algorithm based on the preceding characters.
Quiet Zones
1/4" wide area next to the start and stop characters having no markings is called quiet zones. If the area is too short, the bar code symbol will not be read by scanner.
Interpretation Line
This is a line of human-readable characters which is located beneath the bar code.
Bar/Space Patterns
These are wide and narrow black bars and whites spaces present in the bar code.
Inter-Character Gap
In some bar codes, each character is printed independently of other characters and is not part of the encoded character. Therefore it is separated by an inter-character gap.
Code Density
Code density is number of data/message characters which can be represented per unit length of space. Four variables affect code density and are as follows:-
All bar codes have different structures. Some are able to encode more information per inch than others
Ratio is important in deciding the type of scanning device to read the code. Changing the code density of a particular bar code is done by varying the ratio.
The width of the narrowest bar or space is referred to as the X dimension, usually given in mils. The X dimension dictates the width of all other bars and spaces, and ultimately the length of the bar code..
bar codes work by when the scanner scans the bar code, its looks through the numbers and recognises the item and the price. this is because when the product is made its bar code is made to recognise the item and it is put a price on. they use computer technology to do all of this.
----
Basically its till scanners or laser readers consist of a light source and a photo diode that are placed next to each other in the scanner housing (or hand held scanner). To read a bar code, you pass the item across the scanner in a steady even motion. The photo diode measures the intensity of the light reflected back from the light source (the bar-code white and black lines) and generates a waveform that is used to measure the widths of the bars and spaces in the bar code. Dark bars in the bar code absorb light and white spaces reflect light so that the voltage waveform generated by the photo diode is an exact duplicate of the bar and space pattern in the bar code. This waveform is decoded by the scanner in a manner similar to the way Morse code dots and dashes are decoded. It then interprets the wave form in to a numeric code.
i.e.
The last digit of the UPC code is called a check digit. This digit lets the scanner determine if it scanned the number correctly or not. Here is how the check digit is calculated for the other 11 digits, using the code 63938200039 from "The Answers.com world of wonder " (made up name )
Add together the value of all of the digits in odd positions (digits 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11).
6 + 9 + 8 + 0 + 0 + 9 = 32
Multiply that number by 3.
32 * 3 = 96
Add together the value of all of the digits in even positions (digits 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10).
3 + 3 + 2 + 0 + 3 = 11
Add this sum to the value in step 2.
96 + 11 = 107
Take the number in Step 4. To create the check digit, determine the number that, when added to the number in step 4, is a multiple of 10.
107 + 3 = 110
The check digit is therefore 3.
Once the computer (the till or the computer the scanner is attached to) is satisfied that the check digit is right it searches for the code, 63938200039 in its database and when found returns the price, description etc . The same system is used for most products that carry a bar-code from retailers to warehousing to manufacturing to UPS sending parcels world wide.
In the case of a retailer the code, in this case 63938200039 starts life being punched in to the computer which drives the tills. The code is added and a description, price etc is attached to that number. In a retail outlet the company use their own internal code to start the process i.e. 1234 = 750ml bottle of pepsi (or any-other drink) attached to that internal code is the bar-code given to the retailer by the supplier. This is because a product carrying a bar-code can have different information attached by the manufacturer. as an example pepsi in our case on the shelf as a special offer attached to the label. The customer saves 5 labels and sends to the company and gets a free pepsi glass the bar code of a normal (no offer bottle ) may have 63938200039 as its code. The offer bottle will have to have a different bar code because technically there has been a change in some way to the "normal" product so the new code could be 63938200044. The manufacturer tells the retailer of the new code and in the till system now has item;
1234 - Pepsi 750ml bottle - 63938200039
1234 - Pepsi 750ml bottle - 63938200044
The database will now recognise either bar-code as Pepsi 750ml Bottle. This is why on occasion when you arrive at a till in a store they scan the barcode and the till cannot recognise it. The till operator calls for someone to check this - Then it is frequently found that a batch of products has not had its barcode number ntered to teh system.
What does bar code scanner mean?
What a bar code reader is requires an understanding of the amount of information contained in the Bar code itself. Simply the amount of information is huge. All a reader will do is use a LASER beam to collect or read the bar code and transfer the information into a computer.
What is the difference between a bar code reader and a bar code scanner?
Both terms apply to the same device. There isn't a difference.
Where can a bar code reader be found?
anywhere inventory tracking is required. libraries, manufacturing plants, grocery stores, your smartphone, etc...
When did bar codes first appear on consumer products?
=Answer:==the first bar code was invented by Joseph Woodland and Bernard Silver. On October 7, 1952 they were granted a patent for it.=
Describe how bar codes are used in automatic stock control?
One way is in the checkout process: when one or more items are scanned, cash is exchanged and one or more purchases made, the terminal running the cash register transmits that the item(s) purchased no longer exist instore, and once the central computer detects that the item(s) in stock are at a critical level, the central computer dispatches order(s) to providers to ship more of the product(s) back to where the same were originally purchased.
Where can one buy a bar code scanner handheld?
A portable barcode scanner cna be bought online from Amazon. It can also be bought from some of the companies that specialize in producing barcodes and scanners that work with them such as Spectrum Plastics.
What is the use of a barcode scanner?
A lot of cashiers use barcode scanners. They are also used increasingly in stock control applications, so warehouse workers use them. Delivery tracking is another application that uses bar coding for routing and recording of parcels.
Barcodes are also used by automated equipment as well as manually operated systems.
Where can one download barcoding software?
There are many different software programs available for making a bar code. When comparing professional bar code generating software, three stand out above the others. They are Bar Tender Professional, Nice Label Designer Pro, and Label Flow.
The Motorola MC70 seems to be a fairly popular barcode scanner. It's wireless and actually looks kind of like a high-tech cell phone.
"Key features include a color 1/4 VGA display, 1D Laser Scanner/2D Imager, Converged voice and data (Voice over LAN/WAN), User-accessible memory (SDIO) and Windows Mobile 5.0 OS. The MC70 is built to an industrial specification in terms of drop, temperature and sealing, giving industrial users and others in harsh operating environments the ultimate in durable connectivity." - BarcodesInc
What are the advantages of using a barcode scanner?
the advantages of a bar code reader is that you can scan things instead of entering the numbers but some software take webcams so i would just cheek if the program you are using accepts webcams as they are cheaper but if it don i would get a bar code reader.
Who invented the barcode reader?
In 1948, Bernard Silver was a graduate student at Drexel Institute of Technology in Philadelphia. A local food chain store owner had made an inquiry to the Drexel Institute asking about research into a method of automatically reading product information during checkout. Bernard Silver joined together with fellow graduate student Norman Joseph Woodland to work on a solution.
We can trace the idea of the modern bar code to around 1948, when a graduate student at the Drexel Institute in Philadelphia heard a conversation between one of the faculty and an executive of a food store chain. The executive was trying to convince the faculty member to have the school develop a system to quickly and accurately capture product data at the check-out counter. The student, Bernie Silver related the conversation to Norman "Joe" Woodland, a teacher at the institute. The problem intrigued Woodland, and for the next 2 years he would experiment with a variety of data collection techniques to find the one that worked.
Woodland "invented" the first barcode, basically by using Morse code - a series of dots and dashes used in telegraph and radio communications. Woodland wrote out the dots and dash representation of the product number and extended the lines of each vertically creating the first linear barcode. To read the barcode, Woodland adapted the DeForest movie sound system from 20 years earlier that used a sensitive tube to detect the projector light shining through the side of the film. In the movie industry, the light detected would be converted into sound. In Woodland and Silver's adaptation, the reflected light would be converted to numbers.
What device can be used to capture the barcode on products?
Barcode scanner, the laser in the barcode scanner is connected to a digital database, so when scanned it matches an item on the database that tells the person buying what it is and what the cost is, at the same time another machine is adding up all the items that have been scanned by the barcode scanner to create a grand total.
