Could you define the term "backfire" ? Shoot a BB backwards? No. Can a BB ricochet, and bounce back at the shooter? Yes- which is why "Know your target- and what is beyond your target" is one of the rules of safe gun handling.

With just about any gun from bb to 50 cal, you get what you pay for. cheap and good don't usually mix.

You can't get in trouble for that here in Arkansas. That's self defense. Your only gonna be in trouble because shooting someone with a BB gun is just gonna make them mad and they are gonna kick the crap out of you. Better go with a real gun.

If you are speaking about Phoenix Arizona then the answer is yes they are legal to own. In fact one of the largest air gun dealers on the web is located in Glendale AZ.

In the Army, I was hit on the knuckle of my thumb with a BB fired from a low-pressure Daisy Red Ryder . . . it carved a nice half-sphere right out of the knuckle bone. Imagine what a CO2 or multi-pump BB gun could do!

A few weeks ago I would have said NO! they stopped making them a long time ago. But a few days ago I happened to log onto the Bass Pro shop. I could not believe it but they now have a new Model 25. It looks like the old one. So I went to the Daisy home page to see if they said anything about it and they have NOTHING about it. But Bass Pro says it's a Daisy. I just checked it again. It offers a wood stock and forearm in the add. It's selling for $39.94

I ordered one of these Daisy's and it arrived today. It's Beautiful. It looks ALMOST the same as my original model 25 (I have 2 of them) But their are improvements. Some good some OK. The trigger is plastic and a safety has been added. A very nice site, V & Peep site, is now installed on the barrel. The shot tube is ribbed for easy removal and it is beefier than the old ones. The take down screw in the center is missing and is replaced with a bolt and nut. It has scrolling engraved in the sides just like the original first ones. It has wood not plastic for the stock and fore arm. So far I think it's worth every penny I payed.

Daisy started making the model 25 in 1914 and made 58 different variations of this model until 1979. The first ones were made with wood and later versions were made with plastic around 1952.

Daisy is making this model again. Check Bass Pro shop. They ware selling a new model 25 at Christmas 2009 for $39. The new one is more like the original model 25 with a wooden stock and a few nice upgrades like a safety.

You Can't. Good BB guns cost. You might find some used ones on Craigslist.

Crosman air guns made most all of Montgomery Wards Hawthorn brand BB guns.
