When you ask for the value of this air gun, you need to give me more information than "How much is it worth?" Let me explain. If I asked you "How much is my 56 T-bird worth?" The first thing you might ask is, "What condition is it in?" It could be a real gem or just a bucket of rust. It's the same with any antique. The current condition determines the value.

You need to give a description of the airgun, give it some sort of rating like, it's in (Poor, Fair, Good, Very Good or Excellent) shape. Or tell me that is looks well used or has very little wear. Something that gives me an idea of where to start. Without more information it is not possible to give you an estimate of value.

BTW your air rifle was made in 1979 or shortly there after.

If it's a Daisy Red Ryder then they have been in production since 1939 up to today. Look at the model number on the barrel. It will say something like no-111 model 40 or 1938B. NO. Daisy is it's own company. Crosman is it's own company. Crosman owns the Benjamin and the Sheridan line of air guns. Daisy markets Winchester and Avanti air guns along with the Daisy line of air guns.

These are not the only air gun companies. There are many more like Gamo, Beeman, Umarex, Hatsan and more who are independent companies.

BB guns (Not Pellet guns) are used for simple short range target shooting called "Plinking" They are also used for basic firearms training. They are not hunting weapons and rarely get above 600 Feet per second. Pellet rifles can exceed 1200 Feet per second and some can be used for hunting.

The condition of the BB rifle determines the value. What condition is it in. Is it still in the box? There are about a dozen different versions of the Red Ryder. Which one is yours? is it a "NO 40 model 111 or is it a 1938 model. Does it have plastic or is it made of wood.

All this information is necessary if you want an estimate of value.

State the Make and Model. Then give a brief description of the condition of the gun. State if it is working or not (Does it hold air or C02.) Then give it some sort of ration like Poor, Fair, Good, Very Good or Excellent condition.

As soon as you release the pressure on the C02 it will loose all it's gas and will then not be able to fire the gun anymore. You must put in a new C02 powerlett to charge the gun again. The old C02 powerlett can be trashed it can not be recharged.

Depends on what you mean by "FAR". BB guns are not very accurate beyond 25 feet, although the BB will travel much further. Pellet guns and rifles will travel further and be accurate at a greater distance. This is because BB's are shot from a smooth bore barrel, like a straw, and will tumble as they fly out. Pellets usually use a rifled bore barrel and spin as they are shot out of the barrel. Pellet guns and rifles are usually more powerful than BB guns.

Its not easy because they live underground. If you were lucky you might get a head shot. This would be the most effective way to put one down with a BB gun. You may have to resort to other means of getting rid of them.
