Where I live (Canada) you can get your unrestricted firearms license at the age of 18. Unrestricted classifies as most guns used to hunt (ex. shotguns, rifles). You can get a restricted license which allows you to purchase handguns. This is for Canada though so the laws where you live are probably different if you live in the US. Try researching your local laws on firearm possession and purchasing.

If you are asking about traditional BB guns, Not Airsoft. Then the answer is basically one size .177 Cal. At one time the BB's were .175 Cal but that was in the past and the difference is so minimal that it does not matter.

I would suggest an AirSoft BB gun. Not a Paintball or steel BB gun. Unless you have someone who is familiar with firearms then I would get him a Daisy Buck BB rifle and an adult to teach him the respect and rules of handling the rifle.

what you need to do first is buy a mini co2 canister. you then need to fit the canister in the gun somewhere (not the magazine because that isn't needed if yours is spring powered) i don't know where the canister goes but i think you fit in the loading mechanism. co2 canisters are really cheap though. amazon do them.

BB guns are inherently inaccurate, because of the barrel design. BB barrels are commonly smooth boar (Like a straw). When fired, they tumble not spin towards the target. This action causes them to be off targets as the range increases. Most pellet's are usually fired from a rifled barrel. This gives them a spin as the travel towards the target, giving them more accuracy.

Not really. Some ae .177 caliber and fire steel shot, some are 6mm and fire plastic shot. Different guns have different parts, and work differently.

When you ask for the value of this air gun, you need to give me more information than "How much is it worth?" Let me explain. If I asked you "How much is my 56 T-bird worth?" The first thing you might ask is, "What condition is it in?" It could be a real gem or just a bucket of rust. It's the same with any antique. The current condition determines the value.

You need to give a description of the airgun, give it some sort of rating like, it's in (Poor, Fair, Good, Very Good or Excellent) shape. Or tell me that is looks well used or has very little wear. Something that gives me an idea of where to start. Without more information it is not possible to give you an estimate of value.

If it's a Daisy Red Ryder then they have been in production since 1939 up to today. Look at the model number on the barrel. It will say something like no-111 model 40 or 1938B.
