A BB gun is pretty much set as far as FPS goes. If it were a pellet rifle or gun you could use a lighter pellet to make it travel faster. But BB are all about the same in weight so the FPS is always about the same. If you are using a Pump Rifle you can pump it up to the maximum but that's about it. Any over pumping will ruin the air seal.
With enough money, yes. and if you want to increase the fire rate and FPS of it you can just use a biger battery. You can get a spotter witch ups the pps by 100. But you must consider that when upgrading the gearbox of an airsoft, you can't just change one component. for example, if you increase the fps by changing the spring and the spring guide, you also need to upgrade the motor so it has the torque to move the gears and you will need to upgrade the gears so they can move the spring back and forth.
its simple and pretty cheap within reason. if you have an AEG (automatic electric gun) then the FPS can be improved with lubricant, new higher quality springs and air nozzles. also just an added fact the ROF (rate of fire) can be improved with a higher quality torque motor.
now if you have a spring gun you can improve that with a new spring better bbs or lubricant
Gas guns can be improved with lubricant and better bbs.
if your old fashioned and dont want to spend money. me=) i would suggest the lubricant if you have some extra. hoped this helped
There are many internal parts you can replace to increase the fps of your gun. Most basic would be replacing the spring, but most cheaper guns would also need a new gear set and motor to take the strain of a stronger spring. Also, a new air nozzle can prevent air leaks, also increasing fps. Finally, a tight bore barrel will increase your fps by about 10% (if you get a 6.01 mm, also this effect is more like 15-20% for gas guns) while also drastically increasing accuracy.
If there is not an adjustment built directly built into the gun, then it would be illegal to do so in the United States.
On the model I have, the fps screw is located towards the back of the gun under the bolt
it depends, if the bb bends upwards ,the gun simply has hop up which is impossible to stop(believe me I tried). there may be a problem with the barrel(unlikely) but the hop up is the probable cause.
(all of this is with .2 g bb's) If you mean fps (feet per second) then average for a rifle is between 330 and 430 fps. Many CQB fields have a limit of 400 fps though, so if you plan on going to one check their rules first. For a pistol it is typical to have between 280 and 350 fps. Sniper rifles tend to be stronger, from about 400 - 500 fps with .2g bb's because you will probably use heavier bb's (like .25's up to .4's) which will take your fps down to about 350.
The most powerful class of air guns would be the PCP (PreCharged Pneumatic) air guns. These are the big bore air guns that shoot up to a 50 Caliber roundball. These are capable of bringing down a deer. These air guns are charged to 3000 PSI with a special pump or Scuba tank. If you are looking for a simple BB gun and not a pellet gun then any BB gun that shoots above 400 FPS, like the "Dan Wesson" 6 shooter that fires at 420 FPS should be sufficient.
There are BB guns and there are Pellet guns. BB guns are not as powerful as pellet guns. BB gun can only fire a .175 caliber BB at a maximum of around 500 FPS. Pellet guns can fire a .177 pellet over 1200 FPS. The most powerful class of Pellet guns and Rifles are PCP's (PreCharged Pneumatic) air guns. These require a special pump or Scuba tank to charge them to 3000 PSI and can fire up to a 50 Caliber slug. Capable of bringing down a full size deer. Pellet guns are much more accurate and powerful than BB guns. If you want a powerful BB gun then I suggest a multy pump BB rifle.
You question fall short of the air gun potential. Let me explain. There are BB guns and there are pellet guns. BB guns can not reach the power and speed of the pellet guns. The highest BB guns shoot around 541 FPS (Feet per second) The IZH Drozd is rated at this FPS. Pellet guns are capable of reaching much higher speeds and power. Here's an example. The Evanix hunting Master AR6 is capable of firing a .22 caliber pellet at 1000 FPS. The Evanix rainstorm fires a .177 pellet at 1300 FPS. The Airforce Condor tops out at 1450 FPS. There are several air guns and rifles that are capable of reaching this speed. Everyone of these are in the PCP class of airguns & rifles (PreCharged Pneumatics) that require that they be pumped up to 3000 PSI to be used. So if you are looking for a powerful BB gun look at all the IZH models they hold a high record of power and speed.
Well, the legal FPS for an airsoft gun is 450, but you can get snipers, AEG's, etc. that run up to 600 FPS and beyond.
The drozd is rated at 541 FPS. there is not much that you can do to improve it because it's a BB gun and the Co2 will only push the BB so fast. With a pellet gun you can select a lighter pellet to make it faster or a heaver pellet to make it hit harder. BB's all weigh about the same so you don't have much choice. However you can put your BB's in a can and drop a few drops of Crosman pellgun oil in with them and roll them around in the oil to coat the BB's with oil. Also put a few drops of oil down the barrel this will make the BB's fire faster down the barrel. DO NOT SOAK the BB's it will gum up the gun with too much oil
It depends on what you mean by BB guns. Remember there are also pellet guns to be considered. The average BB gun fires around 300 to 500 FPS (Feet per second) but some can attain a speed over 650 FPS. Pellet guns can reach the speed of 1,600 FPS. Airsoft guns are capable of speeds up to and above 600FPS but usually are around 200 to 400 FPS. If you got shot with a Airsoft gun traveling at 300 FPS at about 15 feet it would hurt but if it was a smaller BB traveling a 300 FPS it would hurt more because the BB is smaller and the energy is driving a smaller projectile. Lets talk about STRONG. I define Strong as "Knock down power" Large Pellet guns in the PCP (PerCharged Pneumatic) Class of rifles and guns, come in very large calibers. beyond .177 & .22 they also come in .9MM .45 Cal and 50 Caliber. These pellet guns are capable of bringing down a Moose, Boar or Deer and they are driven by AIR not gun powder. Spring driven pellet guns / rifles can fire a projectile above 1,200 FPS and are used for small game and rodent control. Have you ever heard of an airsoft gun being used for hunting. Of course not! So to answer your question, Yes: BB guns are stronger in most cases.
If its empty no. And it depends on your firing distance and the weight of your BB you are firing. Email me at vino12@aim.com if you have anymore questions about airsoft or real guns and their ammunitions.
Sure you can. This medical condition is an old one and can turn up in the smallest of wounds if the conditions are right.
