No. Canines are dog-like creatures including wolves, dogs, dingos, coyotes, foxes, etc. Bears are not related to this family, also known scientifically as Canidae. Rather, they are related to the bear family, being Ursidae (Genus Ursus or Ursa). Though they are known as "caniforms," this should never lead someone to the conclusion that they are directly related to such dog-like creatures.

What happens to a bear's body when it hibernates?
Firstly, an animal reacts to the weather, which tells it whether winter is coming or not and whether or not it should prepare for hibernation. If the signs foretell winter is on its way, the animal, lets say a toad, goes to find somewhere which is warm, sheltered and possibly hidden (away from predators). When it finds it, for eg. a log/stone pile or a compost heap, it settles down, and it falls into a very deep sleep- its heart rate plummets to the bare minimum to keep it alive, its brain activitiy slows down incredibly, and its breathing is very slow, shallow and light- barely alive. Through that time through winter, it stays in this state until it senses the weather wariming up, indicating spring has arrived, in whicch the toad will go offin search of a pond to mate. There are some very strange cases in animals that hibernate, one of which very much interested me. It is of a caterpillar, that is in hibernation for most of the year, and it lives in the Arctic Tundra. When it senses the very short spring is coming to an end, in which it had guzzled as much vegetation as it possibly could, it would go find a place that's sheltered, for example under a stone or similar, and it wouyld sitthere, and began hibernating- details decribed above. Then the interesting thing happens. The temperatures get to absolutely freezing levels, down to -65 or more degrees! So the caterpillar, all snug, practically dies under that rock or wherever- it actually freezes solid! On a documentary by David Attenborough, time lapse photography showed this amazing phenomena occuring- it was amazing! Forgot what the brilliant caterpillar was called though.
Given the opportunity, I am sure bears would eat beets as there are few things they will not consume.
What stimulates a bear to hibernate?
The coming of winter and its instincts. Bears' instinct make them hibernate before winter as food is scarce in the winter, so they stock up (eat) a huge quantity of food and doze off for a season.

Polar Bears are alot like humans: Eat other animals, starts a baby then grows into an adult, and mammals. They also are like us because if it is a cannibal Polar Bear then yes it would, but that would be if it ran out of all other food options. So that's rare, because they eat Seals, Whales, Narwhols, a few other sea creatures, and if none of that is available, rodents. So it's rare, but yes, on a rare occasion a Polar Bear will eat another Polar Bear.
Adult males will often kill and consume cubs, especially if unguarded by the female.
What are the offspring of a bear called cub or puppy?
A baby bear is called a cub. They are born tiny and helpless, and take a couple months at least before they can travel with their mother. Some bears, like brown bears, may have two or even three cubs at a time. Pandas, however, nearly always give birth to only one cub.
