10w 30 motor oil shold work just fine , syntetic is better . the car should be level to add the proper amount

There is a drain plug under the transmission oil pan drain and refill from the transmission dipstick 3.5l with Dexton 3 oil.

Very simple...

Remove the Expansion Tank (there are many DIY on the E46 Expansion Tank removal with very good pictures, just Google it) and the transmission thermostat will be on the base that holds the tank in place.

Be careful not to hit the top part of the thermostat when removing the tank (make sure you pull it 100% upwards, not sideways like I did.. since it brakes very easily).

In case you do break the thermostat in half, it will be difficult to pull it up, since the two O-rings will hold it in place and you do not have any firm way to grab it...

Solution? Carefully drill a hole and screw a metal screw into the left over piece and pull it with a set of pliers. It does come easy then.

I found these two answers today so have answered my own question!!! Turn on the ignition and push on the little plastic lever under the fairing on the right side of the clock. One push for one minute or keep it pushed to watch the hands spin. There is (or should be) a metal lever on one side of the clock. It's hard to see. If you press the lever towards the clock, it hits a small switch that speeds the clock hands on their merry way toward the correct time. The ignition must be ON for the switch to function

simple, there is an access panel in the front wheel wells of the BMW 328i.just take the access panel off. there's a tab that you have to twist to get the bulb off. there are no wires coming from the bulb, just the tab that needs to be turned. avoid touching the new bulb with your fingers as they contain oil, which will cause the bulb to burn out prematurely.:-)

Take to a qualified BMW mechanic.

Just spoke to a local tyre company who stated that this has to be done by the dealer, as the car has to be weighted down when carrying out any adjustments. You're probably like me.............none the wiser. They did say it's about £100+VAT...EEEEEEK!
