Some of the major bodies of water in Australia include the Great Barrier Reef, the Murray River, Lake Eyre, and Sydney Harbour. These bodies of water play important roles in Australia's ecosystem, tourism, and economy.

The place at the northern tip of the Coromandel Peninsula is called Cape Reinga. It is located in the Northland region of New Zealand and is a significant cultural and spiritual site for the Maori people. At Cape Reinga, you can see the meeting of the Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean.

Water is a powerful landscaper. Water can weather and erode rock over many years to create new structures or wear them down. One example of water's ability to drastically change the land, is the Grand Canyon. The Colorado River over thousands of years had weathered and eroded the rock as the land was pushed upward from below. The river "cut" through the rock, and created the Grand Canyon. Torrential rains can cause flooding. Heavy flooding can be destrucive and can uproot trees, carry and toss rocks, and destroy habitats. Rain could turn a calm stream into a raging river that can pick up debris from the river bed, bashing them into the surrounding area. Water can freeze in between rocks and when it expands, this process of expanding in the rocks over years can change mountainous regions. It can over time reduce their size(from the rocks that fall or slide off). Glaciers can turnlow-lying hills into deep valleys as they move along slowly over the years. Glaciers oftern "pick up" rocks as they move along, and this is from their "cutting' through the ladnscape. Earthquakes under the ocean or sudden displacements can cause tsunamis. Tsunamis are powerful waves that can destroy a beach and the land behind it. These massive waves can overcome and submerge small islands or even barrier islands. These are just a few of the common ways in which water can change the landscape.

The name for a narrow body of water that connects an enclosed sea with a larger body of water is a strait. An example would be the Strait of Gibraltar that connects the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.

Some major bodies of water in Turkey include the Black Sea to the north, the Aegean Sea to the west, and the Mediterranean Sea to the south. Additionally, Turkey has several important rivers such as the Euphrates, Tigris, and the Sakarya River.

Where a river which transmits a great deal of material arrives at the sea and there is little tidal range a delta will form. Example the Nile into the Mediterranean or the Mississippi into the Gulf of Mexico. The Amazon & the Congo, which flow into an Ocean, the Atlantic in these examples, do not form deltas because the ocean currents distribute the outflow of material into & along the ocean currents.

Delta is the greek letter D. The Mississippi is a goosefoot delta. A delta is an area of Distributaries, inasmuch as the river is formed by tributaries it arrives at the sea and divides into separate channels to enter the sea. A delta will only be formed in an area of sea which has a limited tidal range.

The largest bay in Europe is the Bay of Biscay, located along the western coast of France and northern coast of Spain. It is known for its rough seas and strong currents, and serves as an important maritime route connecting the Atlantic Ocean to the ports of France and Spain.

1. Pacific Ocean - Surrounds all of the Hawaiian islands and provides abundant opportunities for water activities like swimming, surfing, and snorkeling.
2. Wailua River - Located on the island of Kauai and offers peaceful kayaking and scenic boat tours through lush forests.
3. Waimea Bay - Known for its famous big waves on the North Shore of Oahu, attracting surfers from around the world.

The largest freshwater swamp in the US is the Atchafalaya Basin located in Louisiana. Covering about 1 million acres, it is home to a diverse range of plant and animal species, including several endangered species.

Brazil is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the east. Additionally, the Amazon River and its tributaries form a significant network of waterways in the northern region of the country.

The largest body of water in Florida is Lake Okeechobee, which covers an area of approximately 730 square miles. It is the largest freshwater lake in the state and plays a significant role in Florida's water management system.

The Chesapeake Bay is located on the East Coast of the United States. It is the largest estuary in the country, stretching across parts of Virginia and Maryland.

The Bering Strait is the strait between Alaska and Russia, separating North America from Asia. It is about 53 miles wide at its narrowest point and connects the Bering Sea to the Arctic Ocean. It is an important migration route for marine mammals and birds.
