A chapter summary of forbidden city chapter 1?

Conflict

In this story there are many conflicts that take place, I have chosen to cover what I think is the most important one.

When Alex goes to China the country is fairly peaceful, his father is covering an important visit between the Russian and Chinese Dignitaries, And Alex gets to go exploring for most of the time. Then when some students protest for no corruption in the government and more democracy things get ugly. thousands of Chinese people barricade Tian An men square, when the prime minister declarers martial law as the solution to a fairly peaceful protest. The protesters hold the soldiers off for a few days but eventually they start shooting on them. This is where the most suspense takes place in my opinion. A huge riot follows over several days. This is a clear show of people against people conflict. There is also an underlying conflict because the soldiers who were sent there are all from different groups (divisions) who have different leaders, they wish to take charge as much as possible so that when the old leader of China dies they're leader may take his place.

What is a summary Of Mice and Mens book?

"Of Mice and Men", is a story of two migrant farmworkers, George and Lennie, who wander the country during the Great Depression. Lennie is mentally retarded and doesn't know his own strength causing frequent problems. George, his friend, is short in stature and appears to have a great deal of common sense. He has assumed the role of guardian and cares for the simplistic and childlike Lennie.

The two men had recently run away from a farm near Weed, where Lennie had been wrongly accused of raping a young woman. They are on their way to a different ranch near Soledad, California where they hope to find work. After they are hired, the two men befriend an aging farmhand with whom they plan to buy a farm. Their dream is shattered when Lennie again gets into trouble and accidentally strangles the flirtatious wife of the ranch owner's son. This incident forces George and Lennie to again run for their lives, but this time it leads to a tragic end. In order to save Lennie from being lynched by Curley and the other men, George performs an act of mercy and shoots Lennie in the back of his head.

~ i hope this is helps~

Basically George and work on a farm to earn money to eventually own what they think as "paradise" where they live on a private farm growing their own crops and raising animals, such as rabbits; their dreams are interrupted when George is forced to shoot Lennie to protect him.
