Who is going to be playing at the Rose Bowl Parade?

Ohio State and Oregon

Ohio State is definitely in as the Big Ten Champions, after defeating Iowa on Saturday November 14, 2009.

Oregon is likely the favorite, however if they go 0-2 and Stanford goes 1-1, Stanford would wind up in the Rose Bowl due to their win over Oregon on November 7, thus giving them the tiebreaker.

Who is playing in the 2008 BCS Championship game?

The 2007 Champ was LSU. The 2008 champ will not be known until January, 2009. If you are asking for a prediction, here's mine: The teams that I think stand a decent chance are: * Georgia * Florida * USC * West Virginia * Oklahoma * Ohio State Note that I don't necessarily think these are the best 6 teams in the country. In fact, I daresay that WVU and OSU aren't even in the top 10, but they play in weak conferences and are likely to go undefeated (or have only one loss) during the regular season, which will be enough to get them into the BCS championship game. However, the only way either of them could actually win the championship game is if they played each other, or some other team that didn't really deserve to be there. USC also plays in a weak conference, but at least the PAC 10 is better than the Big 10 and Big East, plus USC plays a couple of decent non-conference games every year. If they get into the championship game, and the opponent is not from the SEC, USC will most likely win. Oklahoma is a good team, despite not winning a BCS game in the last 5 years. And the Big 12 is the second toughest conference, so it really means something to be the best team in the Big 12. They can handily whip OSU or WVU, but will have trouble with USC. I believe that the best team in the country will be either Florida or Georgia. I'm leaning toward Florida, but it's really close. One of these two teams will win the SEC East, and, if they are not beat up too badly by that time, the SEC championship game, which will automatically put them in one of the 5 BCS bowls. The problem is that the SEC is chock-full of damned-good teams. Even the best team in the country would have a really hard time going through an SEC season undefeated. It's not enough to be the best. You have to be at 100% every game. Even a team like Kentucky or Mississippi State can hand you your a$$ if you aren't careful. Fortunately, I think it's now clear to pollsters that a one-loss SEC teams is still better than an undefeated team from any other conference. Unfortunately, I don't think any SEC team can get through the regular season with just one loss. If Georgia or Florida can do it, then they will be in the national championship game, and will win it. But I don't think it's going to happen. Georgia and Florida will both have two losses, and, 2007 season notwithstanding, two losses is one loss too many to be in the national championship game. My prediction is that West Virginia will be undefeated (though their new coach is a big question mark), USC and Ohio State will have 1 loss each, and the others will be out of the running with two losses. Ohio State doesn't have a chance to making it to the national championship game because they've lost two national championship games in a row. So it will be WVU and USC, and USC will demolish WVU 52-17. But the best team in the country will be Florida. Or maybe Georgia. Note that I would love to see LSU repeat, but it's just not in the cards. They might be strong enough to knock off either Georgia or Florida, but not both of them. Then they would have to play one of those two teams again in the SEC championship game. I just can't see LSU going 2-1 against GA and FL.
