The first 15 feet or so (up to the arrows) is traditionally called the heads, which is short for the headboards. When bowling lanes were made of wood, it was usually made from very hard woods such as maple, because it was the part of the lane that took the most pounding.
The information is not currently publicly disclosed. If you were trying to base the sales information from the Manufacturers, then you would need to contact any manufacturer of bowling pins world wide.
Bowling balls do not have a specific color. Every ball is different and it all depends on the company what color the ball will be. The most uncommon color is probably yellow, there are very few "strike" balls that are yellow, there are a few "spare" balls or plastic balls that are yellow but not many. The most common color would have to be a dark blue, dark purple, or black. Anything on the dark scale would be the most common. That color may be the most common but not by much.
They're typically measured in pounds. There are rule conversions to measurement in kilograms.
Chris Barnes (born February 25, 1970 in Topeka, Kansas) is an American professional bowler currently on the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) Tour. He bowled collegiately at Wichita State University, where he also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management. He was a member of Team USA for four years. Barnes, a right-handed bowler, is currently one of the leading professionals on the tour. He has won over $1.6 million (USD) in total prize money during his ten-year career on tour, and has earned at least $100,000 in each of the last nine seasons (2000 through 2008-09). He also won the PBA Rookie of the Year Award in 1998 and earned PBA Player of the Year honors in the 2007-08 season. This makes him only the third bowler in PBA history to win both Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year honors in a career (joining Tommy Jones and Mike Aulby). He has been married to Lynda Barnes (Norry) since 1999. Lynda, an accomplished bowler in her own right, currently represents the United States in international competition and won both the 2008 USBC Queens and 2008 USBC Clash of the Champions tournaments. The couple lives in Double Oak, Texas. Their twin sons, Troy and Ryan, were born in May 2002.

The record for most 299 games in a career according to the USBC records sheet is 40 by Warren Tam Wasson from Garland, Texas. At his passing in April, 2014, Tam's total number of 299 games stood at 41, and was still the record.
League schedules can be found on the United States Bowling Congress' website at www.bowl.com. They have schedules for 4 to 48 teams.
Also, there is league software available on the market, such as CDE Software's Bowling League Secretary, that have the schedules built in.
In your case, you would follow a 14 team schedule and use a BYE team.
In a three game series, the highest score achievable without throwing a 300 game would be 897 (299 + 299 + 299 = 897).
A bowling enthusiast is called a "kegler."
The 292 bowling score is rare as it requires bowling 11 strikes in a row, then only taking out 2 pins in the final throw. This can be a very difficult shot and for most people, they will not purposely try to make a shot that only takes out two pins.
If you are bowling with automatic scorers, it will depend on how many names the computer will allow you to put on one lane. It also depends on how long you want to wait between turns. typically 3 to 5 people bowl on one lane at a time.
A typical bowling ball bag consists of nylon. Foam is usually added for extra padding . Depending on the weight of the bowling ball, the nylon thread count may increase.
A regular household cleaner like Fantastic or 409 would work as would rubbing alcohol. Just make sure you wipe the ball enough to take any residue of the cleaner off the ball as residue might affect the roll of the ball. You might also try looking in the pro shop of your local bowling establishment to see if they have something. They have products to clean, dull, and shine a ball. If you are looking to have the ball hook a little earlier on the lane you may want to try a duller. If you want the ball to hook a little later on the lane you may want to try a shiner. And you could always ask someone that works at the establishment for advice. They would ask the proper questions to find out exactly what you are looking for and want to do.
Take it to a bowling recreation center. They have those special machines that will effectively clean bowling balls and depending on how much you wish to spend, may put that new luster shine on it too.
In tenpin bowling, a perfect game is 300.
No, if the bowler bowls from the wrong place; or if he straightens his elbow during the delivery; or if the bowling is dangerous; or if the ball bounces more than twice or rolls along the ground before reaching the batsman; or if the fielders are standing in illegal places. A no ball adds one run to the batting team's score, in addition to any other runs which are scored off it, and the batsman can't be dismissed off a no ball except by being run out, or by handling the ball, hitting the ball twice, or obstructing the field.
In tenpin Bowling a person gets 10 frames per game. Depending on if you get strikes or not, you could have a few as 12 and as many as 21.
Yes. At the beginning of a new spell, the umpire will ask the bowler "Right-arm over?" or something similar to determine which arm he will use and which side of the wicket he will bowl from. The umpire then informs the batsman. If the bowler decides to change either of these (to bowl around the wicket or with his left arm) he must inform the umpire, who informs the batsman. If changes either without telling the umpire, the delivery is illegal and will be called a no-ball. Similarly, a batsman must tell a bowler whether he will bat right- or left-handed, and cannot change without notifying the bowler.
A bowler, however, does not have to tell anyone what style he intends to bowl. There is nothing to stop a bowler from bowling a fizzing leg break, followed by a 150km/h thunderbolt, followed by an arm ball. "Which arm" and "which side" are the only things a bowler has to disclose.
The PBA was formed in 1958 and it's headquarters is in Seattle, WA. It is the main sanctioning body for profession ten pin bowling. There are many members from all over the world.

Standard weights for bowling balls (ten-pin, US) are :
Children : 6 lb. (2.7 kg) and up

Men (competition) : 14 to 16 pounds, maximum (6.3 to 7.26 kg)
there is more momentum and it depends on what your arm swing speed is when you throw a bowling ball because on your follow through there is more momentum going with a heiver ball rather than a lighter ball
Your knowledge of friction would allow you to read the oil pattern. Since oil makes the ball slide further, you can attempt to find an area based on the ball reaction that will maximize your room for error. Bowlers generally use gravityto gain momentum. Using a "pendulum"-like swing, bowlers will drop the ball into the swing and rely on gravity in the downswing to pick up speed.
