It depends - if you simply want to swap a weapon (whether in singleplayer or multiplayer) just walk over to a weapon on the floor and press F (or what ever key you assigned to the USE function). call of duty: mw4 isn't out yet, but you would definitely be able to support single player, if it ever comes out. it seems cod mw3 is the last one i think, but if you are talking about cod4: mw1 then you can definitely play singleplayer

To get a gold gun you must complete all of the challenges in each of the different weapon classes. The gold guns are as followed
