It's just Catholic, not Roman Catholic. Roman is an epithet first commonly used in England after the protestant revolt to describe the Catholic Church. It is never used by the official Catholic Church.

Chartres Cathedral or the Cathedral of Our Lady of Chartres is located in Chartres town, about 50 miles from Paris in France. Chartres Cathedral is a UNESCO World Heritage site and considered an excellent example of Gothic architecture style in the world.

In a historic floor plan of a church, the area between the altar rail and the pews is a boundary where the floor of the chancel is higher than the floor of the nave. The sanctuary can be the front part of the church where the service is conducted or it can mean the nave and chancel together.

The only monastery with which I am familiar with that had anything to do with reforming the Church was the Abbey of Cluny, well actually the whole congregation which led a reform of the Church and her monastic life beginning in 912, and lasting for about 250 years. Also there are the Solemnes congregation of Benedictines who took on the reform of the liturgy at the request of Pope St. Pius X around the beginning of the 20th century.

Tradition has it that the tunic of the Virgin Mary was kept in the Cathedral of Chartres, France. Over hundreds of years beginning in AD 876, pilgrims traveled to Chartres to view the cloak which supposedly was worn by the mother of Jesus Christ.

The ten commandments in my view help guide our values. The ten commandments help us to make the right decisions as we face challenging situations in which we may break them. I also believe that these commandments help us to recognize those who love us most, for example "Honor thy mother and father" is a way of telling us to love and care for our parents who have done so much to ensure our safety and development. These commandments have served a great purpose for much of humanity for over 2000 years, and they still survive to this day for the purpose of guiding us.

The national cathedral in Washington, named the Cathedral Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul, is an icon of the Episcopalian/Anglican faith in the USA, and took approximately a century of planning and building to be completed. It conducts services and honours the glory of God through the prayer and communion of its members, and encourages scriptural, doctrinal, and sacramental study. It is also an excellent and popular tourist site.
