Almost all of them have big eyes and are docile. For example, Herefords, Angus, Jersey, Speckle Park etc.
Cattle of the same breed which have a parent of a different lineage or blood-line (be it a dam or a sire) than the lineage that is being bred on that ranch. For example, a ranch may have a closed-breeding program of a blood line of Line One Hereford cattle. When he wants to outcross some of his cows, he will buy a bull that does not have the Line One lineage, but instead will go for a bull that has, for instance, a Durango line instead so that the resulting offspring have Durango-Line One genetics.
**Note: Line One and Durango are bloodlines that do exist in the Hereford breeding industry. They are just used as examples on here.

It is not known how the the different strains of cattle were crossed to form the Ayrshire breed is not exactly known. Back in the late 1700's they were mostly black, but brown coloration and spotting started to appear. It is hypothesized that in 1750 the breed started improvements, with the infusion of Shorthorns and Holsteins into the foundation breeding stock. Also, cattle from the Channel Islands where also used to improve the Ayrshire breed to what we know today. Remember though, Ayrshires are not crossbred animals, but purebreds.
Speckle Park is a breed of beef cattle that originated from Saskatchewan, Canada.
When did Speckle Park cattle become a breed?
In 1959, Eilleen and Bill Lamont of Maidstone, Saskatchewan, bought their first speckled heifer from Mary Lindsay of Greenstreet, Saskatchewan. The subsequent offspring from this heifer caught their interest and they decided to attempt to create a new breed. In 1985, nine Speckle Park breeders met to form The Speckle Park Breeders Association; the name was later changed to the Canadian Speckle Park Association. In 1993, Agriculture Canada granted the approval to the association for a developing breed under the Canadian Animal Pedigree Act. Then on July 6, 2006 the Speckle Park breed was named it's own distinct breed of purebred cattle.
What are the qualities of Speckle Parks?
Speckle Parks are a medium sized beef breed that easily converts forage into beef allowing the animal to have a high dressing out percentage. This breed is known as the Carcass breed, producing high quality carcasses without a thick layer of outer fat and high quality marbling.
Heifers and cows rarely need assisting during calving (high calving ease), calves have a birth weight between 60 and 80 pounds and known to be very vigorous (energetic, suckling within minutes). Cows have high maternal instincts and high milking abilities and udder qualities. The breed is very fertile, females will cycle early and are easy to catch.
Speckle Parks are polled (a natural trait), they are very docile, and can withstand harsh environments.
