The original carol "Silent Night" was composed by Franz Xaver Gruber, with German lyrics by Joseph Mohr.

The English translation of the lyrics was written by John Freeman Young.

"Jingle Bells", originally "One Horse Open Sleigh", is one of the best known and commonly sung secular Christmas songs in the world. It was written by James Lord Pierpont (1822-1893) in 1857 or before. The song has been translated into many languages as well.

Composition

Various stories of the song's origins give the place of composition as Savannah, Georgia, Boston or Medford, Massachusetts.[1] An oft-repeated story is that he wrote it to be sung at a Thanksgiving program at his church in Savannah or Boston, and because of its instant popularity, it was repeated at the Christmas program. The copyright was granted in 1857, and at that time Pierpont was serving as the organist for a Unitarian congregation in Savannah.

Overview

As originally published in 1857,[2] Pierpont's song had a different chorus melody, which was more classical, even Mozart-like. The 1857 lyrics differed slightly from those we know today. (The original words are given below in square brackets.) It is unknown who replaced the chorus melody and the words with those of the modern version.

It is speculated that Lord Pierpont was the original writer or "Jingle Bells". This is infact, not true. The carol was written by a man with the last name of Hemy. The song Jingle Bells was stolen from him and now is believed to be written by someone else.

yes - her name is Christmas Carol, she was born on Christmas Day, and she's an orphan. The orphanage takes her to see Santa, and she says she wants a family for Christmas. This request makes Santa sad, and he adopts her himself.

There are two different twists in the lyrics of the song. one is I"ll be Back again some day... ( vague but reassuring) the other I"ll be back on Christmas day- which is in line with the Season. If this lyric is used- it is the only mention of Christmas in the entire song- snow, of course, but follow the lyrics-it does not once mention Christmas, or such props as Santa, Trees, decorations ( like the Five and Ten store in one of the Crosby songs)l.

These girl like pink, fluff and sparkles. They would most definitely like big girls things like make up, touch screen cellphones, and laptops, NOT computers. They are very hard to please so if they ask for pink with absolutely no blue or yellow then make sure of that before you by it or you will have a hissy-fit. I personally would no buy them a doll unless you see them play with dolls or wish for some.

TOMBOYS:

These girls would almost never wear solid pink. They are the masters of all things blue and cheerful .They are optimistic and love sports and awards. They love getting things they can play with so NO makeup, pretty jewelry MOST of the time, and sometimes perfumes. Some tomboys love or like dolls. Unless the tell you that they want pink go for blue, yellow, orange, green, and etc. .

MIXED:

These girls like almost everything and every color. They are the easiest to please and usually don't ask for much.
