Computer Aided Design

Computer Aided Design (CAD) is the act of using computers to design an object. CAD techniques follow standard engineering design and drafting procedures, but use a computer to help speed up the process.

What is texture in design?

What is Texture in Design?

Texture is what gives a design the feeling of a surface. It is the tactile sense of the elements in the design. In Web design, texture is visual, but it provides the illusion of physical texture. Some common textures are:

· rough

· smooth

· hard

· soft

Use of Texture in Design:

Texture in Web design can be used in many ways:

· backgrounds

· emphasis

· stylised designs like engravings or etchings

What is color in design?

What is Colour in Design? Colour is a basic element of design, but what many designers don't realize is that it's not a required element. Some of the best designs are done with only black and white or just a touch of one colour.

Use of Colour in Design: Colour in Web design can be used in many ways: ?? backgrounds ?? text and foregrounds ?? images ?? accents

What is Direction in Design?

What is Direction in Design?

Direction in design provides mood and atmosphere. Direction gives the illusion of movement within a design. There are three basic directions in design:

· horizontal

· vertical

· diagonal

Use of Direction in Design:

In Web design, direction is most often portrayed by the images on the page. But you can impose direction through the placement of elements on the page, and with lines especially when they have arrow heads on them.

What does STL stand for in cad?

STL (STereoLithography) is a file format native to the stereolithography CAD software created by 3D Systems. STL is also known as Standard Tessellation Language. This file format is supported by many other software packages; it is widely used for rapid prototyping and computer-aided manufacturing.

Are noise and interference major propagation problems for optical fiber propagation?

No. Fiber is immune to electrical interference; there is no cross-talk between signals in different cables and no pickup of environmental noise.

What does cad é mar atá tú mean?

It means "How are you?" to one person in Donegal Irish.

What are the disadvantages of using computer aided manufacture?

CAD is making our jobs done in a really fast way. You can draw a project for example in couple of hours instead of hand drawing (which will took you nearly a week maybe). We cannot say "there are many disadvantages of CAD". But maybe a few can be listed here;

  • Fully automated solutions may have mistakes those you may not recognize.
  • A computer doesn't have the vision or experience of a human. So if there is something that needs to be cleared, machine may decide wrong. Your vision or experience will guide you to a better solution than the machine does.
  • Using machine for everything will make you think less then you should. You may not be able to improve your mind, your thinking style to solve something. Machine will do that for you.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of using autocad?

ADVANTAGES

It's a

1)simple enough software with real user friendly interface.

2)Easy to grasp and if you are new at CAD, this can provide you the basic exposure

3)cheaper than most of other CADD softwares , if simple profile designing is all that you require

DISADVANTAGES

1)not so much suited for 3D as it has fewer options

2)Cannot handle complex designs

3)If you are into heavy assembly work don't rely on this softie...

How to load LISP application in GstarCAD?

Execute "appload" command then add lisp file to start group list, you also can add related sentence in "icadautoload.lsp".

How do you operate autocad?

AutoCAD is a computer-aided drafting software program that enables the user to create precise 2- and 3-dimensional drawings used in construction and manufacturing. You can run the most-recent version of AutoCAD on your Mac or PC. People who learn how to use AutoCAD can create scaled drawings that are used to manufacture equipment, plan infrastructure projects, design electrical circuitry, and build homes and commercial structures.

Can you get autocad for free if you are a student?

At this time, I believe Autodesk will provide students with a limited free version of Autocad. Check with your local college or university.

Some have downloaded illegitimate copies of Autodesk on mIrc and Torrents.

If you attend a university that has a engineering program you can get a 3 year free subscription and get any Autodesk product, including Autocad (see related link). After the 3 years is up you can renew it as long as you are still attending the university. If you do not attend a university all you can get is a 30 day free trial. See attached related link to download any of Autodesk's products for free.

What are the branches of drafting?

Architectural Drawing; drawing of primarily buldings and using wood, concrete, and steel as materials.

Structural/Bridge Drawing; detailing of structural steel and concrete materials.

Machine Drawing; drafting products and details using metals and processes of all sorts and in their various forms, such as: formed, wrought, forged, and cast.

Electrical Drawing; the making of wiring diagrams and harnesses used in buildings, ships, and machinery that use electromotive power and controls.

Electronic Drawing: the drawing of primarily low voltage DC

PC boards and controls.

Graphic Drawing; the drafting of stylized 'pictures' to represent, or render, a concept. the technical aspect is in the drafting and not as much in details.

Ship/Boat Drafting; an area of drawing using a large number of free-form shapes connected to form hulls and other parts of boats and ships.

Airframe Drafting: the drawing of free-form shapes melding with many mechanical interfaces. This discipline requires a high degree of Mil-Spec knowledge.

Is milkshape3d free?

No. Milkshape 3D is Shareware.

That means you can download, install and Use it, But with some limitations.

The limitation of Milkshape 3D: You can only use it for 30 days.

(after the 30 days are used, you can't save your projects)

Why is a high level language less error prone?

High level languages are far more descriptive and, generally, more like a natural language. In my experience, it has been a lot easier to make a typo in a low level language because you are doing things like directly accessing memory locations and using registers for storage.

How do you make a round smiley face on the computer?

press the shift Bar and then the : colon Bar and the press shift and the nine at the same time and it will automatically change to a round smiley face isn't that cool

How do you transfer auto-cad to word?

Word will only allow you to insert pictures. There are a variety of picture file types but the most popular are JPG or JPEG. AutoCAD is not a picture file so you cannot insert it directly. But you can convert it into a picture file format using a screen capture software package such as Snagit. Here's how it works. You capture the AutoCAD image from the screen with Snagit then you save that capture as a JPG file. Then you can insert your newly created JPG into a Word document.

Compare the advantage of CAD programs to traditional drawing methods?

1. Designs can be easily be modified on screen without the need for re-drawing.

2. Designs can be stored electronically and easily retrieved.

3. Design data can be directly outputted to printers or CAM equipment.
