Pangaea or Pangea.

The continent of Africa has regions with just two main seasons – a wet season and a dry season. This includes areas like equatorial Africa and parts of East Africa, where the climate is characterized by distinct rainy and dry periods.

North America, and Asia are the two continents that are entirely North of the equator

Asia has the highest average elevation of all the continents in the world. It is home to the highest mountain range, the Himalayas, including the tallest peak, Mount Everest.

Apparent polar-wander paths show that the continents have moved because the paths traced by the magnetic poles from different time periods do not align with the current geographic North Pole. This discrepancy implies that the continents must have shifted positions relative to the poles over time.

The British Empire extended to every continent except Antarctica. Some of the key territories under British rule included parts of North America, Africa, Asia, Australia, and the Caribbean.

Tectonic plates.

The hypothesis is called continental drift, proposed by Alfred Wegener in the early 20th century. It suggests that a supercontinent called Pangaea broke apart over millions of years to form the continents as we know them today. This theory was later developed into the theory of plate tectonics to explain the movement of the Earth's lithosphere.

These cables and satellites transmit data in the form of light signals or radio waves across vast distances. The data travels through interconnected networks, known as the internet backbone, which ensures the seamless transfer of information between continents.

The Arctic is not considered a continent because it is primarily an ocean covered by ice, rather than a landmass. The land surrounding the Arctic Ocean is part of several continents such as North America, Asia, and Europe.

South America has the fewest amount of countries at just 13. On the other hand, Africa has the most at nearly 50.

Continents look different from a hundred years ago due to factors such as tectonic plate movement, erosion, volcanic activity, and human activities like urbanization and deforestation. These processes lead to changes in the physical landscape of the continents over time.

The main reason continents look very different from 100 years ago is due to the process of plate tectonics, which causes the movement of Earth's continents over time. This movement can result in the reshaping of continents, the formation of mountain ranges, and the opening or closing of oceans.
