Why was Cotton well suited for plantation production?
Cotton is a major agriculture crop in Mississippi. More than one million acres of cotton are planted each year.
What is special about cotton that you can wear it?
Cotton, being a natural fibre, contains more natural impurities on its primary and secondary walls. Analysis of cotton wax, in the past, has revealed a general composition as 25% fatty acids, 52% alcohols, 10% sterols, 7% hydrocarbons and 6% "inert matters". The main constituents of the wax include 1-triacontanol, montanol, beta sisterol and a mixture of high molecular weight esters. About 85% of carboxyl groups in the pectic substances of cotton are methylated and are in the form of insoluble calcium, magnesium and iron salts of polygalacturonic acid, which also constitutes to the non-absorbent characteristics of raw cotton.

Cotton is picked in Autumn. There is a Nov 1 deadline to have all the cotton picked so it can be plowed under to prevent cotton weevils . If it rains while the cotton is being picked it yellows the bolls and the value of the cotton goes down.
You use a cotton picker and a module builder to do this.
Cotton is sourced mainly from countries in the Southern Hemisphere including India China Pakistan the United States Brazil and Uzbekistan. In addition Egypt Turkey and Australia are also leading producers of cotton. It is estimated that India and China produce more than half of the worlds cotton.
Below is a list of the top countries that produce cotton:
How cotton is extracted from the cotton plant?
Cotton grows ". . .in a boll, or protective capsule, around the seeds of cotton plants." The boll are picked or plucked from the bush either by hand or by machine.
Cotton Diplomacy is when the south tried to convince England to support the Civil war with cotton but they said no.
How is cotton used these days?
A version of it is still used but the current machines are much more sophisticated and efficient than the original.
Wood from the cottonwood tree (AKA Poplar), so called because the seed pods look like cotton. This wood has interlocking grain, so you can't split it--good if you are making things from it, very bad if you're trying to use it for firewood!
What are the properties for cotton?
These are properties of Cotton:
1)It is soft and comfortable.
2)It wrinkles easily.
3)It absorbs perspiration quickly.
4)It has good colour retention and is good to print on.
5)Cotton is also strong and durable.

When wool is drafted unevenly as it is spun it forms lumps in the yarn. The lumps, called "slubs," are thicker than the surrounding yarn and have little or no twist. This is generally considered a mistake which is common to beginning knitters but has become a popular intentional effect especially in art yarns.
Which country produces the best cotton?
Best is a judgement and you are the judge.
Different uses of cotton would dictate which type of cotton would be best.
There is no one 'best' cotton, because it is so useful.
Well for one thing you dont have to grow it like cotton its fairly cheap and if you wear it and get wet you wont freeze your butt off like if you wore cotton.
What is a disadvantage of cotton?
It shrinks in the washing machine beginning from 30°C(86 °F). Therefore, hand wash is strongly recommended.
Yes, some places will take cotton to use for making paper. Cotton is also recycled into cleaning rags.
Cotton will also decompose in landfill as it is an organic product, grown on a cotton bush.
fibers can be made into a diverse array of fabrics suitable for a great variety of apparel, home furnishings, and industrial uses. Cotton fabrics can be extremely durable and are comfortable to wear. (from Encyclopedia)
What are morphological sructure of cotton?
Yarn structure for cotton is the same as the structure for all yarn. Fibers -- from whatever source, except silk, are aligned so that they all run more or less parallel to each other. The process is called carding: this produces roving.
Then the roving is spun into yarn. All fibres are now running more or less parallel to each other and twisted/ twirled together to make the yarn.
Where is the cotton found on a cotton plant?
Cotton comes from a plant called a cotton plant it has a green steem and a white ball (which is the cotton) on top of it.
The plant itself is any of four different species of the shrub Gossypium native to South America, India, Central America, Mexico, Pakistan and Egypt. Ok, yes I agree with this and thank you to whoever put this on!! from cbarrow!

Why cotton fabrics have high shrinkage?
i think grey faric margin should be 10-15% of finished width then u can control that problem otherwise u have to sanforize that fabric to improve weft side shrinkage and on the
Cotton is a very flexible material.
If it was not flexible, then one would not make cloths out of it.
Each cottonfibre can easily be bendt sideways.
It does however not stretch much before it breaks.
