After the plant is dead a cotton picker ( machine) goes through the rows of cotton and pulls the cotton off the plant. It usually takes about 3-5 times for the picker to get all the cotton. The picked cotton is put into big trailers and taken to a cotton gin where it is processed and the seeds removed. It is then packed into a big bale of cotton and shipped.
