There is no "vault" on Counterfeit Island.
The Dragon Face Lock
At night, secretly enter the museum by opening the Dragon Face lock in the Underground.
The Black Widow's Lair
The Key Card you recovered from the scooter chase will open the locked barrier.
(see the two related questions)
You do not use it when you find it.
When you get free in the Black Widow's hideout, the key card will open the door to her collection of stolen treasures, where you battle her at the end of the game.
The spider key card is dropped by the shady guy after the scooter chase. It is used later, after you return to the museum and get a message from Early Poptropica.
The torn pieces are out in the open for the most part, except for the one in the underground arch.
Locations :
To get the key go to higher ground (on the house) and jump down on top of the bat. If this doesn't work, go on the roof and PATIENTLY wait for the bat to fly above you. When it does jump up and get the key. You need to be patient for this part, don't just chase the bat around the screen, that never works.

You only use the Black Widow key card at the end of the island, to open the sliding doors in her secret hiding place.
After the scooter chase, return to the Museum and you find a package. Examining it, you find a message to meet the Curator in Early Poptropica. Use the blimp to travel there (you are not actually going to play that island - it is a simulation). Go to the Art Deco Museum and enter. You will find the curator at the lower left of the bottom level. Once she gives you a key, you take the blimp back to Counterfeit Island.
You have to track down the guy who stole the painting, and find out where it is. There are clues in the surveillance video at the museum security office. You will have to get the timecard from the museum security guard (he is in the Clown Store). When you have the photo of the thief, show it to the people Downtown.
You don't. They are MIMES : they never talk when they are performing.
If you show them the photo of the thief, they pantomime "music", which suggests you look in the All That Jazz cafe.

After you chase the man who framed you, he will escape at the docks.
There is where he drops the key card. But you cannot pursue him further.
Go back to the museum. There is a package waiting for you. Open it to read the hidden message.
There is no key to find. You will get it when the time comes.
After you chase the thief, you will be going to the Art Museum on Early Poptropica. You will talk to the curator and she will give you the key.
Those who want to block out sunlight to avoid using the air conditioning in summer months will benefit from a complete black-out window treatment. Also those who must work nights and sleep during the day may find this type of window treatment to be optimal. These simple steps will help a person create a complete black-out window treatment for an affordable price.
1. Choose Curtains And BlindsThe curtains chosen do not need to be dark-colored to create a black-out treatment. Special curtains with a thick light-proof backing are sold in home furnishing stores. These types of curtains may be found for low prices from online warehouses and auction sites, such as eBay or Amazon. Blinds are not absolutely necessary, but those who want to open the curtains sometimes without receiving direct light will likely want blinds. If money is an issue, the best choice for blinds are Roman blinds, usually available at about $10 for one set. A good curtain or drapery rod should be chosen for the proper length of the window.
2. Install Tracks & HooksBlinds will come with installation instructions; these should always be completed before adding curtain rods. Follow the directions exactly for the type of blinds chosen. People who have small children should cut the strings on blinds so that they are not long enough for children to grab and choke on; many toddlers have or nearly have died this way. After the blinds are installed, apply the curtain hooks. Make sure that the hooks are applied to the wall evenly on each side of the window.
3. Add CurtainsThe last step is to add the actual curtains or drapes. If a drapery rod was installed, it will be necessary to place curtain hooks in the thick upper seam of the curtain, spacing them evenly apart. They must then be hung on the plastic hook receivers on the rod. For regular curtain rods, simply run the rod through the curtain’s middle lip. Most black-out curtains have a top lip that is folded over to block out light. The curtains then may be hung up and a cool and dark room will result.

The 6 pieces form a dragon face, which is the arcane lock on the underground access to the museum. Coming up from the Tunnel at night, you have to arrange the features of the metal door to match those in the picture.

Locations of the Dragon Face pieces:
The City Docks : top of the boat mast
The City Docks : in the sand to the far right
The Museum : on top of the museum
The Museum : in the Supply Room
The Inn : above the street artist, near the roof
The Underground : in the arch where the bulb is hanging
Arrange the Dragon Face features to match the picture, then press the latch :
Left (your left) horn : flat to left
Right horn : up to right
Left eyebrow : up to middle
Right eyebrow : over top of eye
Left eye : down and left
Right eye : up and right
Chin : halfway down below mouth
Tongue : all the way out
All you have to do is get 150 stars and use the cannon and blast to the top. You can also check You Tube for a glitch and a secret to get to the top of the castle without 150 stars.
Also, there are 3 more ways.
1. You can be Luigi and back flip onto the little cliff on the waterfall on your right. Once on there, turn your camera view, and keep pressing B till you get up on top. Difficulty:1/5
*This is a glitch in the original Nintendo 64 version*
2. Be Mario and go all the way to your left and on a little hill triple jump, and wall kick up the wall. Difficulty:4/5
3. Be Yoshi, and go to the little cliff on the right, and keep pressing B till you are high enough to the castle. Hope that helps. Difficulty:1/5
*This is a glitch in the original Nintendo 64 version*
4.Be Wario and keep on ducking and sliding up the hill at the right until you can't fall, then run fast to the castle. Difficulty:5/5 Note: This is really hard to do, you have to practice a lot!
Find the security guard (he is at the Clown Store) and get his timecard. Then when you look at the videos, they will show the time of the theft. You can get a photo of the thief (it's the shady guy who was supposed to be helping save the painting).
At Night in the Museum
It is not the cameras, but the lasers that you have to avoid. Hide behind the statues until they move away, then work your way across the statue room to the exit at right.
The Surveillance Video
To view the video of the theft, you need the timecard from the Security Guard. Go to the Clown Store and get it from him, then you can see the thief on the video in the Security Room.
Go to the two large trashcans to the right of the Tour entrance. Dig to the bottom of the one on the right. You still can't use them, however, because they aren't yours. Return them to the owner.
