Does cous cous make fat?

i have been on a well known balanced diet plan, and putting on weight following eating couscous !
I have just introduced couscous because it is filling and supposed to be a diet option that is really filling.
I should add that this week i have been diagnosed as DIABETIC with an unusual glucose result on a fasting diet. I think that has something to do with the combination of carbs and glucose, and may be behind my weight gains with couscous.
