I have had hermit crabs, and I know they definitely don't poo.

table salt has iodine which can kill your hermit crab. You need to buy special salt from the pet store.

Yes, they are scavengers and will eat their own kind. They can smell the weakness of a hermit crab when it molts and some kill the molting hermie to eat. They dont stop to think thats my own kind, they just have a sense that says eat.
