WOW, this is a very difficult question due to the fact that Dave Matthews plays many different types of guitars.

I can tell you that as far as acoustic guitars go, he seems to be partial to "Martin" guitars.

Martins are very high end acoustic guitars, some of the best in the world.

It also means that they come with a heavy price tag as well.

I was looking at a couple a few months ago, and they can range anywhere from $900 dollars to over $30,000 dollars (and anywhere in between) depending on what they are made out of.

When DMB was just starting out, Dave had a business relationship with a Charlottesville, VA lawyer named Ross Hoffman. Hoffman was one of the first who encouraged Dave to form a band, and he owned the famous Pink Warehouse (as in the song "Warehouse). The contract between the two pertained to the publishing rights of the band's songs, which were controlled by the company the two founded, called Colden Grey, Ltd. In 1995, after the band had become a hit with Under The Table & Dreaming, which had sold several million copies, Hoffman sued Dave for partial control over the publishing rights to the songs that were under the Colden Grey name. The two eventually settled out of court, but Dave was shaken by what he felt was the betrayal of an old friend, and the experience led to the lyrics of #41. As for the title, it simply reflects the song's place in the order of songs the band had written (i.e., it was the 41st song written by the band).

This seems to refer to a rally before the end of apartheid. When Mandela came into power, they got rid of the Afrikaan flag and created a new flag with the colors of the ANC being split by the colors of the US which have traditionally been seen as the colors of freedom.

Funny the Way it is is a song talking about the controversies of life. The lines in the song talk about how one thing can be happening in life while something else totally opposite is going on too. In the song there is a line that says "bomb blasts bring a building tumbling to the floor, and laughter while the children play war." is a good example of how kids can be laughing and joking at something like war when it's for real going on somewhere else. the song is full of contradictions.

I highly doubt it. Dave Matthews' twin daughters, Grace Anne and Stella Busina were born August 15, 2001, which means they just turned 8 years old last month; the girls in the "Funny The Way It Is" video do not look 8 years old to me. Also, if you google "Dave Matthews and daughters", the pic that comes up is Dave with Grace Anne, one of his twin girls, and that pic was taken in 2008, last year. That girl pictured with Dave and the girls in the video look absolutely nothing alike: the girl pictured with Dave has blond hair and a babyish looking face (which makes sense, she was 6 1/2 years old in the picture), and the girls in the video have reddish looking hair and more mature faces. One more thing: Dave's twin girls are fraternal twins and these types of twins usually do not look identical, like the girls in the video. So, based on this info, the girls in the video can't possibly be his daughters.

HThe firedancer is a Dave Matthews original artwork. A long time ago, when trying to come up with merchandise logos, someone asked Dave to draw what he saw when he looked into the crowd. He drew the firedancer. He said he saw people just letting go and dancing crazy and having a good time. That is where the firedancer came from and what it represents - what Dave sees in his audience.
