Dinosaurs roamed every place on Earth. However, it is general belief held by most paleontologists that the largest and oldest populations of dinosaurs originated and lived on the North American continent 150+ million years ago. Dinosaurs lived on the great plains and dense rain-forests as well as deserts.

Sometimes the fossils are complete enough to see remnants of stomach contents. However, the best clues/evidence comes form the shape of their mouth and the structure of the teeth. Their body morphology also gives clues.

I don't know much about seismosaurus... But I'm pretty sure it's huge size as an adult protected it... For offspring, the adults may have protected it by havung the young in the middle of the herd (if they traveled in herds).

It depends on which environment and which dinosaur. You couldn't have a carcharadontosaurus in siberia but you could have a spinosaurus in the everglades, there are to many variables to give a defanit answer but yes certain dinosaurs could live in certain environments around the world.

I'm not quite sure, but my guess is that because some fossils or bones were broken or in the shape of an animal or something, they couldn't tell with the naked eye. It also took years for them to view the cells or anything that might give them clues with microscopes.
