MPG can be 22 in the city and 34 on the highway with a manual transmission. With an automatic the MPG would be 19 in the city and 30 on the highway. If you plan on buying a Dodge Nitro, be sure to get a manual transmission. MPG is much better, you have more control, and it's a lot more fun to drive.

I have a 2007 Nitro 2.8, Diesel and have now been able after some time to locate the oil filter.

The 2008 model doesn't have a cabin air filter. I have a 2008 nitro R/T and it doesn't have an air filter. If it were to have one, it would be located inside of the glove compartment, pull that completely out and there will be a honeycomb plastic piece, under that piece is where the filters go. Other years of the nitro have filters, but ours don't.
