Elie Wiesel

His father was giving Elie the inheritance because he wanted to pass on his assets and wealth to his son as a way of providing for him and ensuring his future financial security. It was a traditional way of passing down wealth within families.

Eliezer, his parents, and his sisters are crammed into a closed cattle wagon with 80 others, with no light, little to eat or drink, barely able to breathe. Men and women are separated on arrival. Eliezer and his father are sent to the left; his mother, Hilda, Beatrice, and Tzipora to the right. He learned years later that his mother and Tzipora were taken straight to the gas chamber.

In the book "The Cay" by Theodore Taylor, a German U-boat attacks and sinks the ship Phillip and Timothy are on during the night. This event sets off a series of events that lead to Phillip being stranded on a deserted island with an elderly black man named Timothy.

"Merciless selection" refers to the process during the Holocaust where SS officers would select which prisoners were fit to work and which would be sent to the gas chambers. This dehumanizing practice would often separate families and lead to the immediate execution of those deemed unfit. Elie Wiesel vividly describes his own experience of this brutal selection process in his memoir "Night."

Eliezer and his father survive the first selection at Auschwitz because Eliezer lies about his age, saying he is 18 instead of 15. This allows them to be placed in the same line, increasing their chances of remaining together and surviving.

A fellow prisoner in the concentration camp told Elie that his name had not been written down during the selection process, which meant he would not be assigned a work detail and would likely be sent to the gas chamber.

Elie was whipped in the concentration camp by a Kapo (a prisoner assigned by the Nazis to supervise other prisoners) for witnessing him committing a sexual act with a young girl. The Kapo whipped Elie to ensure his silence and prevent him from reporting the incident.

The irony lies in the fact that Elie chooses to leave the hospital and evacuate with the rest of his unit, thinking it would be safer, when in reality, those who stayed behind were liberated shortly after and found to be in better condition. This decision ultimately leads to him experiencing more suffering and hardship during the evacuation.

Moche the Beadle escaped being executed by pretending to be dead among the mass graves and later fleeing to warn the Jewish community about the danger they faced. He managed to survive and later shared his experiences with Elie Wiesel when they met again.

Elie Wiesel was a renowned writer, professor, and Holocaust survivor who won the Nobel Peace Prize. While he achieved significant success and recognition during his lifetime, it is not accurate to characterize him as "rich" in the traditional sense. Wiesel dedicated much of his life to advocating for human rights and promoting peace.

Elie is a hero, really a hero. For all that he was through and did. For his story the courage to write it and remember the horrors of the Holocaust. He shared the mistakes and the actocites of the holocaust-he was not scared to write it what really happened to him. Not fluff and sugar caoted candy but the real honest to goodness things that really happened. He has preserved that time forver and made us aware of the sufferings of the millions of imprisioned in the camps. He made us aware so we cxan stop all genocide-like that NOW happening in Dafur, Sudan. If we are supposeed to be remembering all those millions of peoples' promises then why are you and i not doing a thing to help those? Why? We cannot forget...and they are suffering that makes us liars to ourselves to the dead of the holocaust and to the people of the genocide, which we have betrayed so brutally. TAke a stand...it is now that we must act.

Elie struggled with religion in the book, "Night", because he could see all this bad stuff happening, such as people dying, babies being thrown into fires, etc., but saw God doing nothing about it. He saw people praying to a god and following the way they knew how, but no progress or change. Even in the end of the book, Elie gets out of it, but doesn't think it is God that did it, but luck. It is really a strong problem because in continuous pain, faith becomes hard and so like Elie, you can stop believing.

In the book "Night," Elie Wiesel's gold crown was taken out with a rusty spoon by a dentist in the Auschwitz concentration camp.

Elie father died of a high fever and he was very hold at that time too. He was also very weak.

Elie's father informs the family that the Jews will be deported soon to concentration camps in Poland. This news fills them with fear and uncertainty about their fate.

The most important goal for Elie as he enters the camp was likely survival. He would have wanted to endure the harsh conditions, avoid detection by the guards, and find ways to procure food and stay healthy to increase his chances of making it out alive.

The young Jewish men with knives choose not to attack the SS officers because they are outnumbered and would likely face severe consequences or death. Additionally, they may prioritize other forms of resistance or survival strategies in the face of such overwhelming force.

when in the book as I was reading in class, he had lost all his faith in with god himself. He always would say why has god let us suffer and leave us in the hands of a fool not knowing what he is doing. Elie had belived that god had left them all behind but no, one Jewish kid caught stealing when he was actually pretending to help them even actually beat up his father, he and other two Jewish men were caught and all three were hung while both adults hung the young boy remain living and while somebody in the background asks"were is god now?", Elie answers but within his self, he is here, and he is still with us keeping remaining this young boy to keep living in order to show god had never left there side. that same very night there soup tasted like something called corpes. Well this is mainly what i know about this part of this story. In the book night Elie remain living strugging still and honor his father when it was his father that had been remainin to stay at Elie's side until that night that he father died his last words were 'Elizer" to Eli and that was the last time he saw him. The next day they must have taken him to the crematory. Well still showing at this fact, Elie was known that god had never lost them had never left them and had stayed with them until the very end.

Just imagine you have been told your whole life that GOD is all around you and when you are in trouble he is there to protect you and all he needs from you is Faith in him and now you are in really trouble and he is not there to help not even for a split second

Elie Wiesel and his family originally lived in Sighet!

Elie's father prohibited him from studying the Cabala because he felt that Elie was too young to understand its complexities and that he should focus on his regular studies first. Additionally, Elie's father may have wanted to shield him from potential misunderstandings or misinformation that could arise from studying such mystical texts.

Elie Wiesel would still be in shock of everything and wouldn't have had any time to think through clearly about what he and a lot of other people went through. That and he was probably not able to afford to write books since he came and left the camps with nothing.
