It's said that when people are angry, depressed, or just upset, that cutting is like, some kind of release, to let all of those emotions out, and to feel physical pain rather then the mental pain. But cutting leaves ugly scars that you'll regret so deeply, so rather then cutting, try snapping your hands or wrists with a rubber band, it feels pretty much the same, except no nasty scars.

I don't think a rubber band would work quite the same, of course, that's all a matter of opinion. Some Emos also like seeing the blood.

Maybe when he wasn't emo he was in the closet and then when he started to be "EMO" and wearing girly jeans and band shirts and hanging with girls because he was beginning to be hot he came out of the closet to his friends.Or hes just gay and when the EMO" fad is over he'll still be gay or bi. I agree with the above person.^^ Emos don't really want to answer people that talk to them, even if they're just trying to be friendly. Just try not to be so happy or optimistic. Don't push it though, if things don't work out, you should probably just give up. Don't take it personally.

Well, SOME of them do. Like happy emo, people who's style is emo, but the person wearing aren't emo, smile and laugh. Others, maybe not. Most do, but they are very outgoing, and the regular emos, I don't know. ask one of them.

i mean, there are probably some that are mean, but there are always 'sour apples.'
if they are mean to them, it is probably because goths discriminate against emos, and pin them as whinny cry-babies, and say that they stole their style. it is just an argument between the two. it is irrelevant.

because they have very tough lives and alot of them have to put up with bullying which doesn't help. but if you take the time to get to know one then they are really nice and outgoing and enjoy doing adventourous things.

Yes, it's perfectly fine for someone who identifies as emo to date someone who identifies as a prep. Personal style or subculture preferences shouldn't be barriers to forming a relationship. As long as both individuals respect each other's preferences and backgrounds, they can have a healthy and fulfilling relationship.
