If they dress with skinny jeans, band t-shirts, and has crazy and unique hair, its an emo. Also, the real emo's act sad, and usually don't want to talk to people around them.

I agree with the above person.^^ Emos don't really want to answer people that talk to them, even if they're just trying to be friendly. Just try not to be so happy or optimistic. Don't push it though, if things don't work out, you should probably just give up. Don't take it personally.
