First Amy Lee(vocals and keyboards) and Ben Moody(guitars) made Evanescence, then they added David Hodges, then David left. Then they added Rocky Gray(Drums), John LeCompt(guitar), and Will Boyd(Bass). Then Ben Moody left. He was replaced by Terry Balsamo. Then Rocky Gray and John LeCompt left. They were replaced by Will Hunt and Troy McLawhorn. Then Will Boyd left. He was replaced by Tim McCord. Basically the only original member is Amy Lee(1995-present). Out of all the other guys, Terry has been there the longest(2003-present).

If you are talking about where have they been the past few years, they were taking some time off. Amy is now pregnant, and supposedly she is working on new material(whether it is Evanescence or not is still unknown). Amy also did some work on a score for an indie film called "War Story". Evanescence left their record label in January 2014 and Amy is suing them.
