Bolt action, break action, pump, lever, semi-auto (autoloading) rolling block, twist action, That is 7 types, but there are actually more types that are rather obscure. A twist action example is the Garcia Bronco .22 rifle.

The Nitro-Hunter was made by the Baker Gun & Forge of Batavia, New York. It uses a modified receiver that was originaly made under a contract with Febiger Arms Company of New Orleans. These were made for sale by the Belknap Hardware company. Depending on condition, around $150 or so.

Fully automatic firearms (machineguns) truly have a rate of fire, as they continue to fire as long as the trigger is held down. Semi-auto, pump, bolt and lever firearms fire one shot, and will either reload, or are reloaded by the shooter manipulating the gun's action. A single shot firearm must be loaded by hand, and would be the slowest of conventional firearms. The absolute slowest rate of fire would be a flintlock rifle, which has a rate of fire by a skilled rifleman of about 2 shots per minute.

Actually, that is Western Field. That was a store name used by the Montgomery Ward department store for guns sold by them (but made by others). In the case of your gun, it is a Noble Model 70. There are SOME parts available on line at gunpartscorp.com. A gunsmith will have access to other sources for SOME parts. I specify SOME because that gun has been out of production for about 50 years. The S&W gun is a model 1000. They are both semi auto shotguns. The S&W gun, discontinued for some years, was made in Japan by Howa. Just my opinion, nowhere near as good a gun as the Remington

In the United States, Federal Law require a shoulder fired, rifled barrel firearm have an overall length of 26” or greater, even when a folding or collapsible stock is retracted. The minimum barrel length is 16” from breech face to crown.

Delphian Arms Co shotguns that were distributed H&D Folsom Sporting Goods were either manufactured by Crescent Arms Co (Norwich, CN, 1892-1931) or imported from Belgium. The same name was also used by Supplee-Biddle Hardware on Fulton Model shotguns manufactured by Hunter Arms Co. (Fulton, NY, 1890-1945). The value of any gun is based on the exact make, model and condition. Most of these are middling quality, and sell for $150 or so.

Pretty close. The CC440 was the version made for and sold by Coast to Coast stores. It has a slightly different sight, wood is a little different.

Made from 1949-1957. The 142A is a bolt action, and is less common that the semi-auto version, the Model 152A. There is collector interest in the Mossberg 142A, and values are going up. Original peep sight is hard to find. Nice little rifle.

The Owner's Manual published by S&W does NOT give instructions for disassembly of the magazine, which MAY mean it is not meant to be taken apart. They DO mention cleaning the inside of the magazine by holding down on the follower, and using a swab to clean the inside.

Remington rifles are dated from a 2 or 3 LETTER code stamped on the barrels, left side, half inch from the receiver. Go to the website for the Remington Collector's Association, and they have the table to decode the month and year of manufacture.

That depends entirely on where you are, and what you want to do. In the US, on a Federal level, there are permits/ licenses to be a dealer in guns, an importer, manufacturer, collector, dealer or manufacturer of machine guns, etc. Some states require a permit to purchase a gun or possess a gun, and a different permit to carry a gun, or carry a gun concealed.
