That is if you can find the plugins and presets for them.

You might prefer a PSR E403 VSTi plugin instead. It is far more versatile that the unit itself and you can fully integrate the module with the mixer and any other effect plugins you may have. Skins are no longer supported in FL Studio, but you can open certain images from the application folder and edit them in your favorite graphics application, just backup those files in case they screw up the FL interface.

Just like any FLP file, you can open and edit any part of it, demo or otherwise, although you can not save in the demo version. Having said that, if you have the full version of FL Studio, the file can be saved, though you can not claim it as your own work if you wish to sell or broadcast the track without the original composer's permission.

By channel, I'm assuming you want a 'pattern' to loop over. There are a few small orange lights on the left side of the playback panel, each one represents a playback mode, song mode or pattern mode. Song mode will only play back the patterns you're created and assembled in the song editor. Selecting pattern mode will allow you to play any pattern in the sequencer. It will continue to loop until you stop it, which is handy for recording in the selected pattern.

You'll need to arrange your composition using the playlist function. Arrange your patterns in the right order. Add effects/compression, whatever. File + Export Audio & your best bet is probably .wav(good quality)or .mp3(standard quality) & then hit start on the dialogue screen. If it sounds a bit patchy you may wish to increase the quality settings but this usually increases the file size.

If you are trying to burn the application from where you've installed it, it doesn't work that way. You need to simply dump the installation files to disk using Nero, Roxio or the default Windows burn to disc protocol by dragging and dropping on the CD-ROM while a blank disk is in it.

In FL Studio 8, you can either add the Sytrus synthesizer module and select one of the piano presets or make one of your own or you can use the FL Keys module, which has quite a few piano specific settings. Alternatively, you can load in as many piano sample tracks as you wish if you have any high quality samples. There are a lot of free modules (generators) and VST/i plugins you can find online that will work with FL Studio and have some nice piano presets.

FL Studio has a piano plugin called FL Keys. Also, you can use the Harmless, Sytrus, or Autogun piano presets, followed by using automatic chord insertion, followed up with automatic groove slicing. FL has many hip-hop drum and music grooves. You can make literally thousands of combinations of hip-hop piano riffs in a few seconds and export each one out as an audio file to use later or split up the grooves among patterns to use in the FL project.

With any MIDI controller, you first have to assign the device as a MIDI controller in the FL Studio MIDI settings and select a free channel for it to work. You may be able to select the controller type, if it is not listed, just use the generic controller. If you need the controls mapped to a certain knob or slider on the MIDI device, you will need to assign it based on what you are attempting to change, and assigning a lot of controls may be time consuming.

Once you get your preferences done though, you can save the controller configuration for use in future projects. Some keyboards come with MIDI controller disks that FL Studio may be able to read, and then there are plugin information that may give you a text file based on the control ports for the plugin where you can assign them easily to your device.

If you want to construct beats, you can use the FPC drum sampler and load in your own drum sounds (or any sound) to create beats that you can export to WAV, OGG or MP3. In any case, FL wasn't designed as a recording workstation, though you have the Edison plugin to record with. I prefer a proper recording application that has a higher latency for that sort of thing, something like Audition or Ableton Live. FL is a digital sequencing software to use plugin synthesizer modules and sound samples to create digital music.

You could try Kvisoft FlipBook Maker, Xflip, Flipb and etc. I tried out their trial and absolutely loved it. I have a monthly magazine that I use the software to convert the pdf file into a online flipbook. Its so easy to post on my site and send out to my subscribers and its so customizable. I have barely gotten into all the features that the software has..pop ups and such. I'd recommend checking out the trial to covert your pdf files into flipbooks with realistic page flip sounds and effects.

If you want to create music, then you may only be able to stumble upon royalty free samples. However, if it is good choir or chanting sounds as close as possible to the real thing, there are 2 free plugins I highly recommend. DSK have a lot of very good sample based plugins and DSK ChoirZ has amazing choir sounds The other is Delay Lama and is quite funny, but very useable. It's a theremin / formant type synth module that sounds like a chanting monk. It comes complete with an animated monk uttering the phonemes of his chanting.

If you are a terrible composer and you can not tell the difference between music and the wailing of a banshee, then yes. Under your usage of the software, it is highly dangerous... to people who have to listen to your creations. Otherwise, no. It is a safe and reputable application, unless the program came from a nondescript source with non factory additions and a possible cracking application that may or may not cause your computer to wail like a banshee...

Cubase VST used to be the standard industry professional application used for music mixing, but many applications are becoming more functional and much easier to use, giving even the amateur composer a chance to enter the music industry. Plugins have been made to automate complex arpeggios and scales so that a note never need be played, just placed into the project of the host by its own automated presets.

FL Studio is one such a program. It is becoming much easier to use, there are many compatible FREE plugins to get a hold of that FL will use without question (unless it's buggy) and you can even load existing MP3's for you to create a remix using some of the FL most basic functions.

The question of which is better can only be defended by loyalty to the industry versus the love of music and the ease of composition by a host application. If you are not too familiar with music mixing, FL Studio has a lesser learning curve and you can simply have years of fun with it, but if you want mastering precision, Cubase or Ableton Live are better, that is if you are not too concerned about an interface with little aesthetic value and don't mind spending hours adjusting the many parameters of a well mastered downmix.

The FL studio is only compatible with computers running the Windows operating system so you will need to have a recent iMac with an Intel processor and have Windows installed on it to be able to use the software on an iMac.

Cakewalk Z3ta is a DXi instrument. FL Studio hosts DXi plugins. Install Zeta after installing FL and you should be able to see it with the other synth plugins.

Recording time is not limited in fl studio but make sure to select an empty pattern before recording, because when you record while selecting a used pattern with a channel filled with 4 beats (as an example), recording will stop after those 4 beats pass :D
