Fortune Cookies

Approximately 3 billion fortune cookies are made each year around the world, but they are most popular in the United States. A fortune cookie is made with a "fortune" wrapped inside, which is a piece of paper with words of wisdom or a vague prophecy written on it. Ironically, fortune cookies are served in Chinese restaurants in the United States, but are not served in China. The exact origin of these intriguing cookies is unclear, although it is believed to have possibly been introduced by the Japanese.
