The exact spot is not known. Military reports regarding the accident mentioned "Mannheimer Strasse" and "Neustatter Strasse" in or near the city of Mannheim, Germany. According to Wikipedia, the accident occured near railroad tracks. Google Earth shows that both streets still exist to this day. Coördinates: 49°30'13.43" N 8°30'12.37" O for the T-shaped intersection and 49°30'20.17" N 8°30'05.13" O for a single railroad track crossing Neustatter Strasse at a sharp angle. The exact location of the accident is most likely somewhere near here. Bear in mind that after almost 70 years the surroundings have changed dramatically.

He probably would have been retired from the army, and not been in the Korean War. Patton graduated from West Point in 1909, and would have been in his early 60s. MacArthur was even older, but was a unique case.

Patton carried a Colt Single Action Army on his right hip, and a Smith & Wesson .357 Magnum on his left hip. Both pistols had ivory grips. He was also known to carry a Colt .380 in a shoulder holster.(Remember the scene in "Patton", where he climbs down from the second floor during an air raid, and starts shooting at the German airplanes?)

Although referred to as General George S. Patton Jr. (1923-2004), he was actually the IVth; shortly after his father's death in 1945, George legally had the IV dropped from his name. Now, just George S. Patton; he performed 3 tours in Vietnam, his last commanding the Blackhorse regiment in South Vietnam, the 11th ACR (Armored Cavalry Regiment). Colonel Patton's motto for his men: "Find the Bastards, then pile on!" Colonel Patton's father was WWII General Patton.

Because Patton and his wife came from wealthy families he was often given a hard time because other superiors did not live as good as he did. Many where envious of his lifestyle which he didn't flaunt but did not ignore. He drove nice cars, owned horses, lived off base in nice houses, owned a yacht. He also suffered dyslexia and had to repeat a grade at west point. His motto was never give up and believe in oneself.
