the model 60 is tube fed where the 70 is a clip fed model there are some small differences but manily the 70 is a 60 with no tube,or feeing lips just has a mag holder instead and the stock has that hole for the mag cut out that's really it
Tap the left side with a punch, or small piece of wood. The dovetails run perpendicular. Left side is as you look down the barrel. May help to let some penetrating oil soak in first.

My Glenfield Model 25 has a micro-groove barrel,so I imagine others do as well.
This is actually a Marlin 120 with a cheaper grade stock. In good condition I would take less than $200.00 for a sturdy and reliable weapon. It has been mechanically compared to the Winchester Model 12.
