The Warriors are going for a retro look. It's mainly for financial purposes because the Warriors have long since lost the ability to make the play-offs, so less fans come to watch. That means less money, of course!! The uniforms were made to gain more money! Retro uniforms have started to become a craze with NBA teams; having being basiacally started with the Warriors, more teams are sampling it, such as the Denver Nuggets. The Warriors retro-look is VERY popular, selling ALL OVER THE NATION and not just the Bay Area. They are by far the most popular retro uniform so far. and THE CITY's jerseys are the best

The team began in 1946 as the Philadelphia Warriors in the BAA, winning the first league championship in 1947. Following the merger of the BAA and NBL into the NBA (1950), the Warriors franchise relocated to San Francisco in 1962, and changed its name to Golden State in 1971.
