Line graphs are similar to bar graphs. With x and y axis. Line graphs allow you to add additional information. Example: y-axis being the number of people, x-axis in years. Allowing you to have various divisions of categories. Men, Women, Children, Total.

First turn your percentage into a decimal by dividing it by 100 ,e.g 78% would become 0.78. Then multiply your answer by 360. e.g. 0.78 x 360 =280.8 degrees.

Therefore: percentage divided by 100 multiply by 360 = percentage shown in pie chart

Pie graphs are good for showing portions of the whole. Like if you wanted to show expenditures of a business as percentages (or portions) of the whole. So there may be a section of the 'pie' for labor, a section for rent, a section for utilities, etc.

This may be more useful than looking at raw dollars, especially if comparing two companies in the same industry, but of different sizes. One might have 2 million dollars in expenses for the year, while the other has $500,000 a year, but they may have similar proportions. Or you may find out that one company has a bigger portion spent on rent, than the other, for example.

It depends on the pie chart. It may not have any numbers less than 4, or all of them.

Well, it depends on which line you are talking about. The x-axis (or horizontal line) is called the abscissa. The y-axis (or vertical line) is called the ordinate. Is that the lines you were talking about?

No, this was a question in a crossword and I believe that they were talking about the line joining two points on the graph. After completing the rest of the crossword the only possible answer was ordinate. It just shows how some crossword compilers stretch their clues.

The advantage is: You can see the data clearer and is easier to draw. It helps if you use numbers that have NOT got percentages in.

The disadvantage is: If you have no choice but to use a bar chart with percentages, you'll have a difficult time trying to do it. A Pie Chart is better to use.

A bar graph and line graph consist of the information stored along the side and bottom lines. The difference is a bar graph goes upwards, whilst a line graph goes sidewards.

A pie chart is a circle. It is called 'pie' because if you can imagine a pie with different percentages of slices cut, it would look like a pie chart. Hope this helps!

Colum charts and line graphs are both very handy but line charts can be made desceptive if scaling along the axis is done wrong, for example to let trendlines appear to show a much faster grow rate than it actually is. Histograms (column charts) are easy to see at once and to understand but they dont allow for performing regression or interpolation.
