On the album version, he uses a "E" harmonica. but in some of the live versions, he can uses a "D" i have no clue how old this post is. but if you what, i can give you the tab i made myself for it, I myself think it sounds just like the song.

Anyway, tuning a harmonica is quit easy. What you want to do is first remove the cover and take out the metal bit with the thin metal strips (reeds) attached to it. Then figure out which reed is out of tune. If it is too flat (pitch too low), you want to file a little of the metal off the end of the reed (the end that isn't attached to the rivet). If the pitch is too sharp, you want to file a little metal off the base, unless you can somehow find a convenient way to add metal at the end ;)

He has his guitar tuned down a whole step from standard tuning, and uses a Bb marine band harmonica. (use a C if in normal tuning)

think original movie track can be played with a C harmonica but the faith no more version is played on keyboard. not sure if is all in one key.

In the sound track it was played Toots Thielemans on a Key of C chromatic harmonica. I believe it is in the Key of C but with a flat, but is transposed for other instruments in other keys. in the 12 hole Chromatic harmonica it starts with 5-,5-,-4,3 you should be able to go from there.

Most good harmonicas will not rust because they are made of materials that are rustproof, i.e. plastic, wood, brass, nickel, stainless steel, silver and gold.

These materials do not for the most part rust, but they may oxidize or discolor when they are used allot.

There may be harmonicas of the cheaper type that uses chrome or nickel plated steels the do rust when the plating is worn through. Over use or keeping them in a damp environment would not be wise for these type of harmonicas.

I was confused by the Hohner-like box, but it turns out to be made by Schylling.

I'd gone through the whole Hohner catalog, but couldn't find one with a green comb.

Also, none of them had boxes with only the word "HARMONICA" in big yellow letters.

I ended up just Googling for 'cheap harmonicas', since I figured Ferguson's people would buy them in bulk to give away.

The Harmonica is the brand name for the instrument the Mouth Organ. The Mouth Organ is a Reed Organ played using the mouth and lungs to supply the positive and negative air flow that other reed organs use bellows for. The American reed organ plays using negative air pressure ie it sucks and the Harmonium blows. The Mouth organ is the only wind instrument to use positive & negative air flow to voice reeds sounding different pitches on the suck and blow.
